Unhappy I miss the Sonics!

I can't believe the Sonics are gone! I know, its old news, but why did David Stern mess with something good? Seattle played great basketball in the Payton and Kemp and Schrempf days. If only the fans had showed up for games...

I miss them dearly too, man. Once the Grizz left, we still had the Sonics for a relatively short outlet travel wise to peep NBA games. Now it's Portland or bust, and I've yet to make it down there...

I was planning on going to a bunch of Seattle games after I got my license in 2007 but it didn't happen. The drive to Seattle from Vancouver is only 2 1/2 hours. Now it will take 6+ hours to drive down to portland and I don't think I'll be going any time soon. I haven't seen a live NBA game since 2006.

"Sonics" comes from SuperSonics, not from the video game. I thought the name was fine. I'd like to see another team in Seattle (or Vancouver) but they've clearly done a great job with the franchise in Oklahoma City (so far).

On the other hand it does give Vancouver a better second chance at landing an NBA franchise.
