Humphries Turning Heads in Dallas

Outside touch?

Quote:
An unheralded player, who is turning heads early in camp and providing defensive help in the interior, is Kris Humphries.

(Humphries) has really impressed me. Hes a physical force inside, but he has outside touch. He has a high basketball I.Q., so hes been a surprise, Terry said.

I hope he tries to show off his outside touch a lot when the Raptors play the mavs this season.

Same story different year. Wasn't he the "best looking Raptor" in training camp last year? That really came to fruition...

Hump is a good player.

Great size, good athleticism, hustles his ass off and he's only 24 years old...it should really come as no surprise.

I thought Hump played consistantly well. The bball IQ part is on the mark, although I know most would disagree.

The problem with Hump is that he need to be informed of his role (and be reminded that he's not a 2-guard) - he's a very good rebounder and plays solid D - and yes, he can hit a 12-footer when left open and given time and of course, if need be.

Always liked Humphries...hopefully he gets a chance in Dallas and takes advantage of it.

I like humphries as much as anyone but "outside touch"....

Define outside? Outside 2 feet?

I liked hump.

I assume his attitude behind closed doors must have been a bit weak.

Yeah, here's the thing with Hump. He'll be great inside, he'll put back a few rebounds. Then he'll take a step back and drain a few shorties...then he'll start jacking more than a pimple faced high school geek. I loved Hump when he was here, but his downfall was that he could never accept what his role was (and always will be) in the game.

he WAS only 24 Jay.

There's a great chance he could grow up a bit in the next few years.

Wish him luck and leave it there I guess. I just wish he could have done that here.

Hump will be one of the guys in the post this season for the mavs. He could maybe even start at the 5 (even though he is under sized). Still the kid has great heart and really knows how to get after it.

14 points/6 boards/FG% - 52/FT% - 83 in 3 preseason games.

Go Hump.
