Orlando believes the Nets' package of Brook Lopez, two first-round picks and a willingness to take back Hedo Turkoglu's three-year, $34 million contract is not enough compensation for Howard.

Magic Superman formally requests trade

Quote:
Magic general manager Otis Smith confirmed Saturday that Howard has formally requested a trade. A team spokesman said earlier in the day that the team had granted New Jersey, Dallas and the Los Angeles Lakers permission to talk to Howard's agent, Dan Fegan, to discuss possible trades.

what the fuck is going on? why do these new age superstars need the public to know about these trade proposals and where they want to go? why not behind closed doors with the staff like a REAL professional, e.g. andre miller did with the cavs, even lebron didn't say publicly where he was going to go until he left (still in a douchey manner with the whole "the decision" bullshit)

Why? What ever happened to these superstars sticking with the team that drafted them and building from within.

I have no idea why Howard wants out of Orlando. I've always thought that that was a city players enjoyed playing in.

For a few years now, the business of sports has become more and more like reality TV. And it seems to be getting worse. If people get sick of reality TV, they'll stop making shows. If people stop caring about where Dwight wants to go, he might not be advised or compelled to make that front and center. I don't suspect either eventuality to occur. The games just aren't enough anymore for too many people.

So Lopez, Turkoglu and 2012 + 2013 1st rounders? The two first rounders make it interesting, especially with the depth of the 2012 draft.

Probably have to throw in some youth, maybe Farmar. Decent point guard who is still pretty young, and could probably score 12-15 PPG and get 5-8 APG, if given starting minutes.

Orlando, you can sit over there next to Minnesota.
I thought they were already part of the club?

Brian Schmitz: Magic are shopping Dwight Howard beyond just the teams of his choice
Quote:
However, Smith said that he would look at all 29 teams if the Magic choose to trade their franchise center. Sources said the Bulls, who can build a package around cap relief, young talent and attractive draft picks, will enter trade talks.
Dwight on Chicago would be crazy, and if I'm not mistaken, its a large market place that players find attractive, so he could stay.

that would win the championship by far. boozer and rose for the offence, rose, deng, and howard for D. it's brilliant. and that's all without their starting SG.

Orlando would look like:

Nelson
Brewer
Turkoglu
Gibson
Noah

Mehhh! Not bad and imo it's a pretty good package. If Chicago also takes Turks contract and instead of Gibson sends Boozer to them (Noah, Boozer,Brewer +pick) it would also probably get it done. Turkoglu off the bench behind Deng??

@WojYahooNBA: Says one Western Conference executive: "The Lakers are shifting toward trying to make a Dwight Howard deal."

@KevinDing: Lakers were plotting for both but have always prioritized Dwight Howard move over Chris Paul -- and were waiting for the right time on DH.

LOL.... so much for Howard being "one of the good guys" in the league.

Guy wants to leave now in spite of the fact that the Magic have made the playoffs the last 5 years and went to the EC finals 2 years ago and the NBA finals THREE years ago.

Yeah.... you clearly had it rough Dwight.
