I've been to the one in NYC (not on purpose, passed by it by accident). If I was 14 or 15, I would've been in Eden.

Now that I'm older, I just can't be bothered. I don't need great shoes to play good basketball, it's all form

I went today. A little disapointing tbh.

3/4 of the store is just a footlocker. There's a seperate store at the back which is the House of Hoops. There are a lot of basketball shoes in the footlocker store as well but it's nothing like the ones in the US i wouldn't think. Anyway, love the old schoold Jordans, signature KD/Kobe and other shoes were pretty cool. It is nice to have a store like this but it was a little underwhelming. Oh and the shoe of the day (?) was sold out by 10am. lol

What a scam industry. Selling $250 shoes to kids who come from low income housing.

I want a pair of Starburys

I saw some of his signature shoes, i swear they were 169.99

Maybe i'm getting confused the KD and Kobe's shoes which were also 169.

Still not cheap mind you.

Ya man, the sneaker industry has always been a scam. I hated it as a kid when I needed to get shoes. No shoe cost that much to make, the mark up is monumentally high. It's one thing to market $200 golf shoes to rich golfers...quite another to bombard low income kids with ads for shows they simply cannot afford.

It's the only equipment you need in basketball. And you don't need to spend that kind of money to get a decent basketball shoe.

Shoes in general are expensive. Try to get a good running shoe nowadays and pay less than 130-150....good luck.

My Johnston & Murphy's cost 79; my Saucony Kinvara's cost 110 (all in), I have a pair Addidas that cost 49 (on clearance, marked down from 120) and my Geox cost 109.

Good shoes CAN cost less than 130 -150. The ONLY show I would ever think about spending more than 150 for are Saucony Hurricanes. If you've ever had knee issues and are slightly heavier set and running, it's almost a necessity.

Grades 5-9, I had Converse (Athlete's World). My parents REFUSED to pay more than $100.00 for a shoe. EVER.

Basketball shoes that run for 200+ are usually collectables tbh. In high school most kids wore shoes that ran for $90-$170.

Never understood the big hype of having cool brand name basketball shoes, especially if they don't play a lot. And even then.

most people dont pay 2 bills for jordans to play basketball, its for casual wear. Not the name is the big selling factor imo, its that jordans legacy continues to live on and people want to be like mike. Not to mention js are appealing shoes and break necks.

And yes there are many shoes under $130 that are just as good, heck lebrons, kobes always mark down the prices. As low as $50 in outlets.
