Hornets' Pick Available?

RealGM: Basketball Wiretap Archives: Hornets Could Look To Get Rid Of 1st Round Pick Again
Quote:
Byron Scott said General Manager Jeff Bower is exploring all options in regards to the Hornets' 21st overall pick.

The Hornets are looking to take the best available player regardless of position.

"I think if somebody comes with an unbelievable offer or tries to buy the pick from us, then obviously we have to take a look at that," Scott said.

The Hornets sold their pick in 2008 to Portland.
Buy? 21st pick? Raptors??

this isn't a game of 2k9 guys. i don't think a team with #1-#4 is going to trade down to #9 just because they also get #21. there just isn't equal value there.

what value would we really get by spending millions on #21 just to move up 3 spots in a draft where we can't find anyone we really want/need?

Is it really worth it to give up the 9th and 21st picks to move up 3 spots? Outside of Griffin, Harden, Rubio and Thabeet, nobody else really stands out. It would be better served to use both picks to get players who can help our team than a guy at #6 who could contribute just as much as the #9 pick.

if we do buy it, i wouldn't mind seeing use take 2 wing players and groom them in our system. Wing players have the easier transitions into the NBA than PGs and Cs...so they will be able to contribute right away. And if that is the case, I wouldn't mind seeing Anthony Parker resigned to teach them the ropes.

In 2k9, I trade all my picks. I don't like bootlegged players made at random
I would like a second pick. Maybe someone like Hansborough will be available at 21.
