Aldridge isn't that physical. I suppose what you mean by "physical" is really "dunks often". What Aldridge really is, compared to Motiejunas, is more athletic and longer, and he added a bit of strength over the years.
Motiejunas is not nearly as good a dunker out of standstill, he needs a few steps. That right there is talent / athleticism / length disadvantage compared to Aldridge. Motiejunas will also need a few years to add some strength, just like Aldridge did.

Aldridge is a finesse offensive player who makes a living off a spin move, turnaround and hook shots in the low post, and mid range pick and pop/roll. That's what Motiejunas brings as well. Neither is a super long range shooter. Neither should really shoot 3s, though both can make them once in a while. And neither should shoot too many midrange jumpers, that's not the best part of their games. What really makes Aldridge a special player and Motiejunas an interesting prospect -- low post game.

Bargnani / Motiejunas is an old and worn out comparison that's basically "Euros, below average rebounders, can make a 3 and played for Benetton in Italy".
But if you can look past "Euro" and "Benetton", there are far more similarities to Aldridge than Bargnani.
It's just that talent level (physically) isn't quite there.

Don't mind buying low on D. Williams or picking up Donatello once Bargnani's gone.

Donatello playing pretty good in the D league. Darryl Morey loves first round picks. If we get one late first round pick in a trade for Calderon, we can possibly send it to them for Dontas.

Chris Copeland is a HG. He might even be obtainable because the Knicks are so deep - dude has skills.

D-Mo is not below average rebounder, he holds all time Eurolegues defensive RPG record. And is in 3rd place of all time rebounding record

He killed the D'league. I'm pretty sure Bargs won't even come close to putting up 10 rebs in the D league.

Morey loves to trade the likes of Marcus Camby, Courtney Lee and Kyle Lowry for picks. Selling high on vets. I doubt he'd give away Donatas cheaply without at least waiting a couple of years for him to add some muscle and trying him out in the NBA.

He had one good rebounding game in Euroleague and averaged 6 (in big minutes too) in the rest. Bargnani had a 17 boards NBA game once.
D-League is D-League. He's by far the most talented player on the floor in most of the games. 10 boards a night isn't that impressive when you consider that the great Jon Leuer is averaging 12. Or that Donatas has 41 boards in 4 games, while his 6'9 teammate Terrence Jones has 35 in 2 games. Or that he played at center in preseason and was routinely outrebounded by whatever 6'9 PF the Rockets played next to him.
Or just watch him, really. He doesn't box out well and he misses the easy ones that drop near him.

I doubt he'll be as bad a rebounder as Bargnani who's arguably the worst rebounding NBA 7 footer of all time, but he's below average.

They can just use that cap space this summer (or next) to sign someone better than Bargnani and keep those guys. They aren't in a hurry.

He averaged 7.8 RPG in euroleague, In summer league he averaged 7.8 RPG, Dleague 10.8 RPG
I watched him plenty and I agree that he is not amazing rebounder he is not below average imo he would have 6.8 in nba (see what i did here )
