I don't think Motiejunas will be as good as Bargnani --- but they are different players. Motiejunas can shoot a little, but his by far the most impressive tool is low post scoring. He's more like a very poor man's LaMarcus Aldridge.
That has to be the worst comparison ever..
Motiejunas is very like Bargs. I know people will laugh in my face, but I will say it! I think D-Mo could be better version of Bargs if given the chance. He is faster better rebounded and probably a better defender.

Mirotic is just too awesome.

Faried is awesome too, not so much of hidden gem anymore though

Greivis Vasquez, New Orleans. I know he is a big PG and that gives him an advantage over the smaller PGs in the league.

Al-Farouq Aminu? New Orleans SF. Averaging 9 pts and 7 rebounds in 20 minutes. I don't know much about him. Last time I watched NO he was fun to watch. Like Ed Davis and Gordon Hayward he seems to be blossoming this year.

Someone mentioned Chase Budinger and I have to agree. He was putting up some nice numbers with the increase of minutes with the T-Wolves before he got hurt.

I don't consider most of the guys mentioned in this thread to be "hidden gems"...
Most of them have/had starting jobs so they're pretty well known.

When I think of hidden gems I think of back of the bench guys like Gerald Wallace (who went from SAC to CHA) or Jermaine O'Neal (POR to IND) and became stars...

I see your point about defining "hidden gems" differently. Bledsoe would qualify more than some of the other guys. And Vucevic would have qualified better last year.

However, I don't think you'll see many Wallace or O'neal level gems that often. They were both drafted at 18 y/o during an era when more players were entering the draft straight out of high school or after only one year of college and falling deeper in the draft to talented teams with solid rotations already in place, like the Trailblazers and Kings had at the time.

Nic Batum

Quote:
Nicolas Batum recorded the league's first 5x5 line since 2006 on Sunday with 11 points, five rebounds, a career-high 10 assists, five steals and five blocks vs. the Hornets.
Batum delivered an early Christmas gift for his fantasy owners, winning untold head-to-head matchups, and in the process he became the first player to have at least 10 assists, five steals and five blocks in a game since Jamaal Tinsley in 2001. This game is the summation of all of our talk about his upside, and it's safe to say his recent back injury is no longer a problem. Since the 1985-86 season, only seven other players have recorded 5x5 stat lines -- take a guess who they were, then follow the link

Ross can't be underrated, he was drafted 8th, no one saw it coming. So he's over rated at least

He's the guy that Alan Anderson completely outplayed at both ends of the court right?...Alan Anderson = Hidden gem.

Stephen Jackson = definition of Hidden Gem

First-Round draft picks shouldn't qualify for 'hidden gem' status.

I might be misinterpreting the term but I still don't think a guy like Bledsoe is "hidden". He has started many games for the Clips if I'm correct and is fairly known around the league.

How about Cory Joseph? He could probably be a servicable PG for us (and fan favorite?) but instead he's been sent to the Dleague by the Spurs... Couldn't get any PT and neither is James Anderson. There's no real need for these guys on our team but they deserve a better situation.

I did said it, he is more like Bargs. Aldridge is much more physical player than D-Mo
