SMART!

Quote:
The Nets have rejected a trade offer from the Heat that would have sent forward Michael Beasley to New jersey for guard Keyon Dooling, according to ESPN's Ryen Russillo.

Miami doesn't consider Beasley a part of their future anymore and is even looking at lopsided trades in an effort to clear additional cap space.

They need capspace. We should do a three-way deal with team under cap or some phoney mega-protected second round pick thing.

Beasley is young and skilled. Bust for a 2nd pick and red flag off the court, but still a good player

Jack and Miami 2nd rounder to Detroit
Beasley and Wilcox to Toronto
Detroit TPE and TO cash to Miami

Edit Detroit bad example, but you get the idea

Keyon Dooling...
The guy's serviceable, but how could you turn Beasley down for Dooling?

Easy. Because Nets and Miami are in the market for the same goal - to clear capspace. And Dooling has unguaranteed contract

Beasley is a headcase. Something a building team doesn't need. Miami is willing to basically give him away a few years after taking him 2nd overall. What do think that says about him?

even though I don't like Beasley, thats a trade I'd accept
I don't think he's signed for more than 2 years, give him a shot, if it doesn't work out trade him or let him walk
Why are the Nets concerned with cap space? unless they know a couple big guys are coming

I don't think the Nets are worried about cap space, theyre worried about Beas bustin' a cap

Btw I'm sure Nets are looking for similar deals to move Kris Humphries.

he is 21, pulling down 15 and 6 while high and they cant even dump him for dooling? his 2 years remaining on a rookie contract is too big for a team to absorb?

i dont buy this shit for a second but if its true, GET THE FUCKEN CLOWN. I dont care how dumb he is, he already plays with more heart than bargnani. He very well might grow out of this clown phase, i would be intrigued to aquire mcbeasely

his stats and potential offer more than our current starting sf, besides a ambidextirous combo forward is something not to sleep on.

sure he may give us 40 games of passionate playing time and then just dissapear for the rest of the season and playoffs, but hell, turkoglu gave us 6 quality games this season. massive upgrade

Beasley was also offered to Washington for free.
Miami wants the cap room and Beasley is a bust.

I'm all for Beas to TO for expirings. If we are going to lose Bosh this summer, acquiring a yound player like beasley for next to nothing would be great.

He might be a bit of a headcase, but look where we are now with so called 'character guys'. Some times you have to leave all that bs at the door and just get people who can play.

He is very young and has time to grow; its not as if he is unproductive. I still think he has the potential to be better than a 20 10 player if he wants to. He has no problem creating his own shot.

I think if we could draft a player like whiteside and have beasley... that could form a potent front court.

Either way getting a top 2 talent for nothing is never a bad thing.

I'd rather keep Hedo or trade him for a new batch of water bottles.
