Heat looking at Eddy Curry

Quote:

A source familiar with the situation confirmed Sunday to the Sun Sentinel that veteran center Eddy Curry has been working with the Miami Heat in recent days, as the Heat look at free-agent options.

By league rules, teams cannot currently work out free agents who finished the season on an NBA roster.

Workouts of those types of free agents cannot begin until July 1, when a lockout is expected to be imposed, shutting down all league activity.

I guess they sign all the old guys.

I think the Heat will make a run at DeAndre Jordan with their MLE. Just makes sense, Jordan is everything they were missing this year.

The HEAT won't get Jordan, the Clippers are definitely keeping him. Right now, I would say the HEAT get Dalembert, there's been mutual interest for a while. Of course we wanted Nene around January after the HEAT was on a list of 3 teams he wanted to go to, but now without Melo on the team he's getting a bigger role and making the money he wants so it's unlikely.

On the HEAT boards right now our priorities are:

1. Samuel Dalembert
2. Resign Mario Chalmers
3. Kwame Brown
4. Michael Redd/T-Mac/Vince Carter/Grant Hill

Of course option 4 we're talking about getting one of those players, which I doubt we have a shot at excluding Michael Redd.

Can I ask something to Heat fans (no disrespect intended in question, just curious)?

I noticed that Heat is capitalized "HEAT" in several sites, including your post. Why so?

It's their official name.

Last I read was Dalembert is looking to re-sign with the Kings.

Because the team's name is the MIAMI HEAT, not the Miami Heat. It's all capitalized, it's not a big deal to anyone unless you're on a Miami HEAT Message Board. We use all the little things to separate the true fans from the bandwagoners, that's one of them.

Thanks carp and WB3, never knew that before.

Eddy Curry's idea of dunking is slamming those chicken mcnuggets in to the new sauces.

I didn't see that, do you have a link? I know that Dalembert and his agent expressed interest in signing with the HEAT. The only issue is financially, if the MLE stays with the new CBA we can offer him the full MLE. I know other teams can offer him more, but not all teams can offer him a starting spot on a championship contender, a place close to home, the spotlight and Florida being tax-free helps a little bit for the loss of salary he could make with other teams. Dally joining the HEAT's roster is pretty realistic, a lot more than the Nene, Oden and Jordan rumors at least.
