Hawks determined to re-sign Johnson

The Knicks really might get fucked this summer!! *crosses fingers**

The Hawks are pooling resources to offer a maximum-salary contract to Joe Johnson on July 1. If they are able to do so, Johnson is likely to re-sign with Atlanta.

Sources tell Adrian Wojnarowski that the Hawks are willing to sell their first-round pick for $3 million, to help pay for Johnson's salary.

For the same reason, Atlanta will likely offer no more than a three-year contract between $1.8 million to $2 million per season to a possible successor to head coach Mike Woodson.

Woodson could leave to take the Sixers' job if Larry Brown becomes team president in Philadelphia. Brown would also look to hire Wizards' executive Milt Newton as his GM, according to sources.

Joe Johnson is NOT a max player.

And why do they want to Woodson to leave? Success seems to not have cured dysfunction.

Lebron, Wade, Johnson, Amare will all re-sign with their respective teams and if Bosh wants to be moved he won't go there without at least one of them that's for sure.

Boy, dare i dream of this??

I could see Johnson gone in a S&T or straight up to one of the New York area teams
they'll resign Childress, put Crawford as the starter

I think they'd be smart to do that imo. Shit would they take Bosh/Hedo+ picks for Johnson/Smith?

why would johnson leave atlanta for new york anyways? the new york media has somehow managed to make new york sound like this organization with a rich history that players want to flock to, when in fact it's the complete opposite. reed, frazier and ewing aren't there. there's no resemblance of them there, so what exactly would attract anyone to playing there aside from an enormously over-paid contract? ohhh i get it. well, if atlanta is offering, he'd be completely stupid to even think about new york.

How do you know Wade's going to be back? He has no talent beside him. The playoffs were a good example. He need 46 to win just one game. He already confirmed to test the free agent market this summer. Miami would need to stack up and get a real 2nd option to hold on too Wade.

Johnson is probably one of the best fits for the raps, but sadly, we got nothing to offer.
