GSW/BOS/MIA 3 team trade

So far the details are:

to GSW: Jordan Crawford, Marshon Brooks
to BOS: Joel Anthony, PHIs protected 1st rd pick(lotto protected 2014, lotto protected 2015, then it turns into a 2nd round pick), future 2nd rd pick from MIA, 2nd rd pick from GSW
to MIA: Toney Douglas

This looks like its a great deal for all involved. Boston takes on a bit of salary with Joel(1 year), but they get back a possible 1st round pick next year if PHI makes the playoffs, and they needed to shed Crawford now that Rondo is back, so they got a decent return for him with at worst 3 2nd round picks.

MIA sheds Joels contract.

GSW gets a very good backup guard in Crawford who should fit their style of play to a T, and completes one of the best benches in the NBA once healthy.

GSW is coming!

GSW just stole 2 young athletic scoring guards with this trade. All just for Tony Douglas?

WOW!

GSW owes MIA big time for sending those picks to BOS. Obviously the picks triggered this deal on Boston's end.

Damn, didn't expect that

LET'S GO RAPTORS!!!!! 01-15-2014 02:40 PM

Kind of expected Boston to get more for Brooks and Crawford but at least they got a nice haul of 2nd rounders, 1 possible 1st rounder.

GSW wins that trade big time. I'm happy that the Celtics got a few more picks though.

I really hope the Heat don't plan to fill a roster spot with Bynum now. Yuck.

Good trade for GSW, I love Crawford (hopefully it doesn't screw my RF Fantasy league lol). Miami's picks will be low or 2nds anyways and since they are not "retooling" they didn't really need them. However, they did save the Heat 15 mil in taxes next year, gets them a decent back-up to cover a hurt Chalmers and more importantly, it just opened a roster sport for the team to bring in someone <ahem> Bynum ;-) Really, it's a good deal all around.

I didn't see you post but I agree, a Bynum acquisition was the first thought that popped into my head.

I got the idea from a Simmons tweet. I would like that team a lot less if that happened. I don't think it gives them anything vs Hibbert, when everything comes out in the wash.

I agree, though I don't think Hibbert has the bbiq that Bynum has. Hibbert is a brute but Bynum can be as well. Bynum on his own might not be enough with his previous injuries though what if it was both Bynum and Oden? I'm wondering if Oden hasn't been recovering as the Heat staff had been hoping or they're more worried about Hibbert than suggested......or both.

A recent report (from Windhorst?) claimed that the Heat have settled on Oden and don't want to risk Bynum.

Damn you Boston. Blazer hatin' mf'ers. We'll trade our best guard to the Warriors for a bag of potato chips. Help GS gain ground in the western conference.
