Warriors GS offering Curry, Thompson, Udoh for CP3

Weak Sauce..

Quote:
The Hornets have narrowed down their list of possible trade partners for Chris Paul to the Clippers, Warriors and Celtics, according to sources.

The Lakers, Mavericks and Rockets are also pushing for a trade, but are on the second tier.

According to sources, Golden State is offering Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Ekpe Udoh. The team would also amnesty Andris Biedrins in order to create cap space to reunite Paul with Tyson Chandler.

Also saw this on a Boston board, .......interesting but likely BS!

Just got home from some Monday night after work drinks, yeah I know.

Anyway, one of the connected guys at my work mentioned the Celtics are pushing for the following deal (I also read a similar idea from a poster in a thread here)

Golden State in:
Chris Paul

New Orleans in:
Rajon Rondo

Boston in:
Stephon Curry
Andris Biedrins

With more moving parts to come. The added rumor is that the Warriors are convinced they have Tyson Chandler. And they are trying to pair Paul with Wright, Lee and Chandler. NO word on what they plan to do with Ellis, trade him for a smaller contract or keep him.

Not bad at all, Curry, Thompson and Udoh for CP3. Dont really know if CP3 will make them that much better though to be honest. But at least they finally get some defense on that Warriors team.

Curry is practically a replacement for CP3 and he's a young and rising star whose slowly improving
Thomson - sorta sucks if he gets traded right off the bat after being drafted, but he's a great scorer and could help extend the floor on that Hornets team, and could start at the 2 spot alongside Curry
Udoh - Seems avg, but could be a deent role player coming off the bench for West/Ariza

For sure it will be better if Curry comes to Toronto instead, but that is irrelevant in this thread

I'd take that if I were New Orleans. Curry is a special talent. Whatever Udoh and Thompson turn out to be is just gravy.

I'm not sure the Tyson-Paul tandem is worth reuniting... that ship has sailed, but it's a great offer from GS...

Don't all these trades hinge on CP signing an extension with the tradee?

No not all.

Some teams are willing to get him and gamble that he'd resign if they win to some point.

Is that true?
Getting Steph Curry for CP3 is excellent trade.

True. I don't see anyone able to top it. They actually offered too much (if they did), N.O. could just sit back now and try to use it. Pit the other teams against each other. Try to get an extra pick out of it. It's an amazing early offer to get. I'd feel very safe right now if I was N.O. manager.

And Wright and Lee. GS would have a great starting 5. Chandler is needed to anchor the defence, which is a huge weakness for Golden State especially with Lee at the 4 and Ellis at the 2. Neither are good defensive players (actually, really poor defensive players).

i think it's such a good offer that i question GS on this one!

curry will close to or match paul imo, and you get a good few extra years out of him. And then thomson and udoh are decent players as well imo.

GS should stick with curry.

This is such a stupid trade for GS, I would take this and run if I was New Orleans. Paul has made it abundantly clear that he'll only play with a contender and GS is barely a playoff contender. Paul would leave in a year because he's a jackass like that and GS would be beyond screwed.

Funny, that was reported yesterday but today that's being refuted...

here is conflicting information on the Clippers' offer. A source close to the team disputed a report that shooting guard Eric Gordon and Jordan had been offered as trade pieces but other sources insisted that the two, as well as second-year guard Eric Bledsoe, had been made available to the Hornets.

Clips wouldn't be a bad spot for CP3 either TBH.... CP3 + Griff = sexy.

And NOK getting Jordan & Gordon is pretty damn good for them.

Reasonable trade there. Maybe the most even for both sides.
