Grizzlies Grizzlies actively shopping Mayo

Quote:
The Grizzlies are making O.J. Mayo available in trade talks, but one rival general manager believes their asking price is currently prohibitive.

Memphis is seeking a player that would improve their chances of reaching the 2011 Playoffs.

Something a bit more realistic:

Bargnani/Weems for Mayo/Thabeet

I'd do that. Draft a PG or SF and then sign one of the Centers that might be available (Gasol, Perkins, Chandler...etc..)

Irving/Bayless
Mayo/Barbosa
Derozan/Wright/(Miami pick?)
Davis/Amir/Evans
Gasol/Thabeet/Dorsey

I'd even keep Jose if we had to, after next season he becomes a 10Mil expiring. If that's the case draft Barnes or Jones.

I'd trade either of them for Mayo, and drive them to the airport.

Mayo isn't playing well and hes inconsistent, why do you think Memphis is desperately trying to deal him when they traded Kevin Love for him? I doubt you even watched O.J mayo play lately and just watching high school highlights.

I am for whatever trade makes us better. DOnt know if OJ is gonna do that. Seems that Toronto has no visible leader. I was hoping Jose would have done that. But i am sure the almost near trade kinda put the kibosh on that.,

Mayo for DeRozan? No thanks. DeRozan is going to be a beast when he learns to create for himself and others. He will always be one of the more efficient guys in the league. He's one of those guys that will get better every year... Mayo not so sure.

BTW there is probably 0 chance that we can pick up Gasol, Chandler, or Perkins... Big men are always needed on better teams, and I doubt people of their talent wanna come here.

High school highlights? It's his 3rd season in the league. He's better then Derozan and he's in a bad situation this season. I'm not gonna say that all of a sudden he sucks. Far from it, get him outta there and you'll see he'll be like his first 2 seasons......which is better then Derozan.

Mayo is a chucker, and he isn't even a good shooter. He isn't motivated, he has no heart or hustle, something both DeRozan and Bayless have. If you really want a heartless chucker on this team then you are truly oblivious. Any GM in the league would laugh at you if you proposed this trade.

You're underrating Mayo. He's a scorer, a good athlete and has a good basketball IQ (could be better). He's got good size as well and with a little work can be a good defender.

DeRozan would be a nice compliment to him but not better. And Bayless? Really? You can't really be serious that he's better than Mayo.

I highly doubt that it would be laughed at, and i'd say you're the one thats oblivious. And to say he's a bad shooter is off, he's a career 45FG% and 38 3PT%. At 23 i'll take that and run with it. And a chucker? He averages less shots per game then Derozan.

Chucker gets thrown around far too often here.....

He isn't motivated etc. because well, he's been jerked around by poor management and has been given really inconsistent minutes.

DeRozan and Bayless are the building blocks to this franchise, to risk it for MAYO is ridiculous.
