Griffin to Undergo Season Ending Surgery

After experiencing some discomfort during his recently-accelerated rehabilitation program, Clippers’ forward Blake Griffin was examined Tuesday afternoon by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles.
As a result of that examination, it has been determined that the healing in his left patella area has not improved to the expected required level. Griffin will undergo a surgical procedure in the near future, with a recovery prognosis of four to six months. Team personnel will be made available to the media. Further details will be made available as events develop.

An examination Tuesday revealed his recovery wasn't progressing properly, the Clippers announced Wednesday in a statement.

Griffin hasn't played yet for the Clippers after injuring his kneecap in their final preseason game Oct. 23. The former Oklahoma star recently increased his workload in rehabilitation, but developed pain in his knee.

drafted by clippers = kiss of death?

Too bad. first no rubio, now Griffin out too. Draft class is doing fine but it's too bad we haven't seen both. GL to BG getting healthy.

that's fcked up considering most people thought he'd be playing by next week. Let's hope he recovers fully and does well next season, not Oden v2.0

yikes.... oden part deux?

the clippers have to be worried...
why were the trying to accelerate his rehab in the first place? its not like they were going to be in playoff contention when/if he came back in January or earlier.
they should have let him rehab at his own pace and given him all the time in the world. its his knee for godsakes. poor kid... bad break.

Typical negative Raps fan taking a shot at a Raptor player when it has absolutely nothing to do with him.

Bill Simmons called it. Clippers curse. All great young talent turn to mush in Clipperland, then they get out and become successful. I'm surprised it hasnt happened to Gordon yet.
