Griffin to be not in 2012 Dunk Contest

So as of right now, it seems that Griffin has pulled out of the dunk contest. It will be great to see some new faces, and someone who isnt going to automatically win because of popularity or because they jumped away from a car. I wish that DeRozan would re-enter into the contest again but he said he wont do another dunk contest unless the all star game is in Toronto. Coming from a guy whose never lost a dunk contest until he entered in the NBA and lost to props.

Keeping that in mind. Who do you guys want to see in the dunk contest this year

Thank fucking god. Last year was horrible

Don Vito 02-03-2012 07:43 PM

This years dunk contest will be a boring piece of shit IMO.

Dunk contests since 2008 have always been lame.

Since 2008? I think 2003 with J-Rich was the last good dunk off I've seen...

I hope Javale McGee is a no show, as well. I feel myself getting dumber watching him play basketball - dunk contests included.

I thought even that one was a bit of a snooze.

Wonder what company will pay money to get their dunker the win so they can jump over some piece of shit car.

INSIDER 02-03-2012 09:16 PM

thank god he's not in it... now someone can actually win and it wont be rigged from the start.

LightsOut 02-03-2012 11:43 PM

they need to get rid of the fan voting, and make active players that won the event judges like VC and J rich and howard and whoever

JDMtors 02-03-2012 11:50 PM

The fan voting for the dunk contests sucks. Bet you its probably rigged too if the person the NBA wants to win doesnt

It should be these guys:

Derrick Rose
Russell Westbrook
Paul George
DeRozan

2000 is the last great dunk off. But 2003 was still pretty entertaining IMO.

Dutches 02-04-2012 05:23 AM

Thats nice to hear. Buuuut it's still going to suck hard.

DonMughal 02-04-2012 08:08 AM

I actually think last year's DUNKS were great. Just not the results. Should've been McGee and DeRozan.

Raptorman 02-04-2012 11:40 AM

Car dunk was VERY lame and really tarnished the dunk contests image. It was clearly a publicity stunt and the judges were told to get Grif to the finals.

I hope they change the rules to "No Props Needed!", but I'm dreaming.

Alex 02-04-2012 12:38 PM

Paul George.
