Spartak Saint Petersburg made a strong market move. They have reportedly agreed on terms of contract with Marcin Gortat (213-C-84). The 27-year-old centre has been playing in the NBA since 2007

Eh... Spartak. Gortat never was super amazing Euro center. I think Pekovic for example would be more valuable player.

Are there a lot of good centers playing in Europe right now?

Is that a real question? No, course not. Gortat will be best Russian center (maybe second after Krstic), but he nver was very effective in Euro offense,

He's actually a pretty good NBA center nowadays, I bet a lot of teams would want to have him.

He'd be perfect fit on the Raptors actually.

I wouldn't be suprised if Minnesota asked for him, but Suns love him..

Everyone knew that his talents were being wasted on a bench in Orlando. No doubt a capable starter in the NBA. Remember when he was almost a Dallas Maverick, but Orlando matched the offer?

This report was false...

Quote:
Agent Guy Zucker refuted reports that his client Marcin Gortat is headed to play in Russia next season. “I can assure you that the story claiming that he has reached an agreement with Spartak St. Petersburg of Russia, is incorrect,” Zucker said. “While I have a lot of respect for Spartak St. Petersburg and its GM, Alex Karvanen, Gortat has not signed with or reached an agreement with Spartak St. Petersburg or any club whatsoever.”
