I seriously doubt that. The Net's aren't a playoff team, let alone a very good playoff team. He is not being remotely realistic. They were mediocre with Carter and now suddenly they're going to be better without him while adding very little to shield them from the loss? They're going to be one of the worst teams in the league this season, if not the worst. Indiana will give them a run for their money.

hmmm...I think he's talker more about the future then the present time. Lee and Harris are a pretty good young combo. But I do say they are the worse team in the NBA.

The reporter specifically asked him about this coming season, not the future. I'm not a mind reader and so I have to assume Brook was smart enough to understand the question and answer it accordingly.

The Nets have a nice core. DH is extremely talented but we still have yet to see how he performs as a legit franchise player. Lopez has the potential to be a career 15/10 guy. Lee is a nice player, not sure how much better he's going to get though.

They will be a good team, just not this year. This year will be ugly.

Theres nothing wrong with saying that we are going to try our hardest and play our hearts out, but saying that yuo are going to go deep in the playoffs is messed up.

Everybody and their Momma was in here only a week ago dissing Earl Watson for signing with the Pacers and then saying it was because they want to win now. The same logic doesn't seem to apply to Brook Lopez? I'll lay down $100 right now on the Nets not finishing any better than 12th in the east. That team stinks and will do jack shit this season.

Brook could have left the playoffs out of his sound bite completely and everything would have sounded ok.

Horrible comparison. Brook Lopez was drafted and is playing on his rookie contract. If he isn't going to expect his team to make the playoffs then he shouldn't even be in the league, because obviously he wouldn't be holding himself accountable for improving his team's chances. His mindset is exactly right, and unfortunately all too rare, and I never actually liked the guy.

And neither myself, nor my momma commented on Watson.

I am willing to bet you the Net's come last in the league and get the first overall pick. No one is saying the Nets are going to be good. If anything it was quite the contrary. What you are doing is blowing what Brook said out of the water, so we are just stating that yor trying to make this look bigger then it is? DQ over.

Yea they are a great young cast but they are not going anywhere THIS year, however we can see them in the playoff race next season or 2 years from now.
