Gerald Wallace Trade in a few hours?

Sometimes it's not just the moves that are made, but the timing of said moves.

This afternoon the Charlotte Bobcats waived two players: Andre Brown and Linton Johnson III. A couple of weeks ago this would have raised no eyebbrows. Teams were cutting their rosters down to the required 15 for the start of the regular season. Now, however, it is more than a little suspisious.

There has been plenty of trade talk surrounding the Bobcats, who have made all but public overtures to the New jersey Nets and the Los Angeles Clippers, and are openly shopping Gerald Wallace in their desire to land a true center to play next to Emeka Okafor.

Now they've suddenly waived two players, taking their roster down to 13.

Sounds like the Bobcats have a taker, and that in the deal they're getting back more players than they're sending out. According to a couple of well-informed sources the Bobcats have been aggressively working the phone lines as they watch their attendance drop in direct proportion to their winning percentage. It sounds like we could see a huge move made by the Bobcats in the next few hours.
Maybe the Raps, I wouldn't be too excited. Who do we give up to fill Charlotte's Seats? Bargs maybe? I doubt we have any exciting players to give up. Any Thoughts?

If it's true what they're saying... then I doubt the Raptors are involved, because Toronto cannot send out more players than they're getting back, as they're already at the league minimum.

Unless we give 3 for 2 and then sign Stoudamire or another vet at the minimum. But it doesn't sound like we're involved at all.I think you're right.

I doubt the Raptors are involved. With have the required minimum and being up agaisnt the cap I really doubt it.

However; if MJ is involved in a trade look for him to screw up royally and give an opposing team a gift of a deal

That makes sense, but Charlotte would have to send something else along with Wallace to make the deal go through, would they not?

But a deal like that would definitely put more fannies in the seats.. and brings in another UNC alum.

I think the teams that make sense that would want Wallace are NJ, NY, NOH, CLE, DET, and MIL off the top of my head.

NOH have been in the mix trying to get a sg for a while, but I think if they got Gerald they could just move Peja over to the 2 and have Wallace guard all the main guys anyway, and itd take a lot of pressure off Paul on offence with another guy who could score inside.

We obviously need Wallace too but its hard to find a trade that works

Out of all the teams you listed, the only team I could see getting in or it is New Orleans considering their slow start this year. That would make sense.
