Nuggets George Karl named COY

Quote:
George Karl has been named the recipient of the Red Auerbach Trophy as the 2012-13 NBA Coach of the Year.

Karl, who guided the Nuggets to the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference, joins Doug Moe as the only coaches in franchise history to win the award. It also is the first time Karl has received the honor in his 25 NBA seasons.

Karl totaled 404 points, including 62 first-place votes, from a panel of 121 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada.

I would rather have seen Thibs win. He's done so well with less. Good for Karl though.

solid coach, but this is one of those times where it seems like he had to win once in his career so they just gave it to him because there were no obvious standouts.

Feel the same way. When it's all said and done I think Thibs could go down as one of the best coaches ever. Really premature, but he's just so awesome.

Now we really should keep DC. COY usually means he will be fired in the middle of next season...then we can get him... PROFIT!!
