Ginobli has pretty much said I won't be more than a bit-part player next season, if they need me I could stay. That sounds like something close to a min contract to me. I think they like joseph so they prob won't be looking at PGs? Ginobli could be a good guy to play with joseph, experienced guy, show him ropes, share the rock a bit, could work well.

So yeah, with that space a quality big man seems like the target. I like splitter a lot but he's not worth 9mill imo. Decision to be made there. Millsap just seems a spurs player to me, he'd be ideal. And then like someone said, a new 6th man.

Spurs will remain an excellent reg season team and imo could still be a team that goes deep in playoffs.

Splitter was a huge disappointment in the finals. I hope some other team over pays for him and he leaves. He is a poor rebounder and offensively he can't do much other then pick and rolls. The only thing he can do is defend the post which he showed in the Lakers and Grizzlies series.

Why do you say that? They have all kinds of flexibility. Do you mean it would be much better to be celebrating a title right now instead of thinking about next year? Other than that, I'm not sure why thinking about next year would suck for a Spurs fan.

yeah, well. This was their legit shot to win it all, but we'll see, the spurs never die..

I am surprised, I thought this would be the last run for the Spurs but they have enough cap space to make some nice moves and make a run for the title again, especially if Duncan plays like he did this season

I don't think they are in pursuit of Iggy considering they have Leonard. Jefferson would look good beside Timmy. Duncan likes playing the 4 and this was the first season he was able to do so since 2008 when the Spurs had Oberto.

Celtics are trading Pierce for like nothing, or at least that's what the Cavs are offering. (2 second-round picks).
Perhaps they could take Pierce? And Garnett too

That article is from 2011. Although, oddly enough, Popovich did say something similar in a more recent report posted on another website. He said it`s up to management to make those decisions, but he doesn`t expect anything drastic.

The thing is, the couple of times I`ve heard the reporters ask him about changse in the post finals interviews, it was more in the context of tearing things down. What I would be advocated, if I was part of the organization, is simply letting complementary pieces go, like Bonner and Splitter, and then keeping Ginobs at a really cheap price so that there is still money to get a new big to play alongside Duncan.

I think Ginobili will sign 2 years/8mil deal. I hope he doesn't jump ship, I'd rather see him retire then do that.

Pop on Leonard:

Quote:
“He’s basically a senior in college, and he went through the Finals as if he was going to HEB to pick up dinner. He was unbelievable. I don’t even call plays for him, and you see what he can do out on the court. He’s just feeling his way. He’ll be getting the ball more and more as time goes on.”
