twitter is not for every one lol

there are many reasons he is getting allot of love..
one of the big reasons is that he is playing good basketball in the mecca... msg

being Chinese does help aswell.. especially when your balling.. he stands out...
and yes black dudes be putting up numbers like this all the time.. but who other then your normal stars in the league.. and at such consistency?

listen man.. when your young and nobody knows you, and your putting up monster numbers.. and leading your team to victory night in and out.. your going to get love.. but to do it in NY is BIG

Stupid Tweet man..

i just know if it were a black person doing this, my asian friends wouldn't be posting videos of it on facebook, let alone asian friends who have never watched a minute of basketball in their lives.

other than that it isn't a race issue and shouldn't be.

Forget the race card, its about a story just like Tim Tebow in NFL and Jeremy Lin in Basketball.

J.A. Adande summoned it best in his ESPN Article:

"Isn't that what we ask from sports?
Show us something. Surprise us. Amaze us. Inspire us.
Or, in Jeremy Lin's case, all of the above."

I'm glad some Asian ballers showed up in this thread to set things straight.

When I was a teacher, ALL the Asian kids balled, especially the Filipinos. The even have a Fil/Can league that plays at a very high level.

They all use to say "one day there will be an Asian point guard". Because thats what they all concentrated on. Ball skills and seeing the court. Even the taller players. They wanted to play the game correctly.

And since it is Black History Month, we should quote MLK...it applies in this instance.

Quote:
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
Yes. It applies to all people. Not just Blacks.

I hope you realize that Mayweather is an idiot and his views/personality aren't representative of an entire race of people.

Of course theres a racial aspect to this amazing story. Some people try to ignore it, but most non bball people(and obviously a majority of young people) think that only black people can play the sport. Like a previous poster said, if you're not black and you show up to the local gym without your crew, it's tough to get on a team because people immediately think you can play because of your skin color. I've been there too. Thats why everytime I go to a gym I try and rip apart whoever guards me and win outright. This is a good story for a lot of reasons, basketball discrimination being one of them.

Wait, people actually think that if this was a black kid putting up the exact same stats the reaction from the WORLD would be anywhere near the same? Yikes
Now, this does not in anyway take down what he's doing, kid finally got a chance and definitely getting the job done. Good for him, he's Yao 2.0, just what, 1.5" shorter? lol
