lockout doesn't affect me in terms of entertainment and its not like we have a contending team nearing the end (SA and Bos) |

![]() heh. did Ed Davis just now realize that this was real?
If this is indicative of a lot of players actual thoughts, this shouldn't take long. The payments for the the Bentleys, and the Mansions with pools and mini golf courses, bottle services at the clubs, their favourite "dates", massive earrings, necklaces, etc.... they gonna add up fast. Shouldn't be long now. I'd wager it's a bit different than the NHL lock out that saw the union actually hold meetings for all players to help them plan for the lock out financially. The NBA guys are likely less prepared. |

![]() Stern cancels first two weeks of NBA regular season
From the link.... "I think it goes back to a comment that David made to me several years ago when he said, 'Look, this is what my owners have to have.' And I said, 'The only way you're going to get that is if you're prepared to lock us out for a year or two, and (this) indicated to me that they're willing to do it," Hunter said. "So my belief, my contention is that everything he's done has kind of demonstrated that he's following that script." Does the NBPA think they WON'T lock them out for the year? Wtf....has Hunter fallen on his head or is this just misquoting him? On a separate note... why is Derek Fisher the President. Puts you at a disadvantage when your some of your representatives are basketball players competing against the best legal and business minds in the country. Not a slam against Fisher himeslf... just seems he's way out of his depth... maybe his role is limited. Last edited by JoeyJoJo Shabbadu; 10-11-2011 at 11:11 AM. |

![]() Ya I get they have lawyers and someone on top... He seems very invovled in the negotiations where I wonder if he should be and not called players representative... but maybe that's what he is anyway.

![]() It's definitely the players; the owners already conceded on not having a hard cap, guaranteed contracts, the players' $160 million worth of withheld escrow money AND not rolling back the existing payrolls/contracts.
