I dont really see how Vesley could play the 3 without a ridiculous improvement with his shooting. He was one of the worst midrange shooters in the NBA this year and has no range. I dont think hes quick enough to defend the 3 either. Hes a bigtime project.

I think its a good trade for both teams, though for this to work out for WAS then Wall/Beal(likely)/Seraphin need to become the players people expect or else they're going nowhere quick. They really need to make a big jump this year to convince Wall to stay, so I see it from their point of view.

NOH cuts off some cap and sets themselves up to be a player in free agency in 2013(or this year if they really want to). First thing is to re sign Gordon, and then they'll have a ton of options available to them. Gordon+Unibrow is a really really good core already, having cap flexibility, a #10 pick, new management and a fresh start is icing on the cake. If I'm Deron Williams, I'd think hard about going there this offseason. Thats a great situation.

i wouldn't care about his offence. he's going to be a menace defensively. let him get his points in the transition.

You dangle a top ten pick out there, and there's always gonna be a fish that nibbles. Just gotta be patient.

Oh wait, whaaaa? It's just an exchange of recyclables, nevermind.

As for Blatche...he's such a problem character wise...The Wiz would be a better team without him which is too bad, he has a tremendous skillset. I can see J.Crawford coming off the bench in a sixth man role as he covers off the 1 and 2.
doubt beal would ever play behind j.crawford, if he can't play ahead of crawford then he isn't worth the draft pick, that high you want to get a legit starter

I doubt he would start the first few games of his rookie season.

Yep that's where I was coming from which is why I said I can see J.Crawford being the sixth man backing up the 1 and 2.

Incredible trade for the Hornets, horrible trade for the Wizards.

His contract is guaranteed for between 10 and 17 million of his 22 million this coming year, based on his performance over the course of his contract. Based on Grunfeld's remarks, it is likely he met enough performance requirements to make this amount 13.7 million, which would be the "buyout" he referred to. Although it does not technically have to be a buyout (they could simply waive him and owe him the 13.7 as salary), it has the same effect. The 13.7 million would count against their cap this year, whether they execute an official buyout or simply waive him.

Hoopshype has that value, but I usually reference Shamsports.

ShamSports.com: Washington Wizards salary information

He takes longer to update, but looking at trades after the fact, on the occasion where the salaries are tight, Sham's numbers almost always fit when other sites' numbers can make the deal seem mathematically impossible.

It seems like most of the sites are using the generic "max contract" amount which was reported early in the news cycle of his signing. Sham's is a little lower, which makes a little sense, as it is likely Lewis would have agreed to a slight paycut to get that 6th year (which was a last minute negotiation, as I recall). Now, either could be correct in this case, but in my experience, Sham is more reliable.
