We could compete for a championship with Battier.

Banks/Battier would be the best defensive backcourt in the history of the NBA

I would love to know what they want fo rhim, he only has a 3 million dollar expiring, so unless he signs an extension then gets traded,(they dont have any big ticket contracts at all outside of Zach) I cant see how they get Value for him.

Unless he's told them he's not happy and wants out, he's going nowhere. Not a great player, but a good player and only 23, is only gonna get better.

ClingRap, I absolutely agree that it should be puzzling. The Grizz should be trying to keep him. However, I can think of reasons why Grizz management might be shopping him.

Rudy Gay is a RFA next summer. This past off-season, the Grizz failed to lock him up at, arguably, a very reasonable asking price of $11-12 mill/per. Given Rudy's strong play of late, I think the Grizz might be concerned that he is going to get much higher offers, and then they'll be forced to match and commit a lot of dough, or watch him walk. I'm not saying I agree with that; I'm just offering it as a possible explanation. Rudy's RFA status probably factors into management's decision regarding which parts of the core to keep around long term (Mayo, Conley, Gasol, Randolph). The Grizz seem concerned with finding the cheapest way to field a competitive roster, rather than being concerned with fielding the best possible roster.

Thabeet is kind of a surprise. I haven't heard much trade talks involving him.

lol Thabeet has been the biggest bust so far outta the last draft. I am guessing the Grizz hope to get as much as they can for him while he is still young. Also, I would love Battier. That guy is awesome

I know, eh? But if they were going to keep him, I think they would have signed him during the offseason. His value is only going up. Maybe they are looking to swap him for picks, or maybe another talented player on a rookie contract. I remember there being rumours he could be headed to Minnesota. I can't remember if it came from a legit sport writer with sources, of if I saw it on a message board. That MIGHT be a good fit, since Minnesota lacks a wing player who can drop 20. Minnesota has two power forwards with potential (Love and Jefferson), a point with potential (Flynn), but they need an upgrade at the wing spots.

Maybe Rudy gets packaged with Thabeet for Love and Rubio....or something like that. That's just a random idea. The deal could involve different secondary pieces...but something involving Gay for Love. Who isn't Gay for Love, right?

rudy/battier/iggy/martin would be a better fit than turk, dont know how this would workout. At this point i would move caldy and have turk come off the bench as the sixth man.
