Eric Gordon refuses offer to sign extension with NO

We should try and get him. lol

NEW ORLEANS -- A person familiar with the situation says guard Eric Gordon has turned down a four-year extension offer from the New Orleans Hornets, meaning he'll become a restricted free agent after the season.

Gordon

The person, who spoke to The Associated Press late Wednesday night on condition of anonymity because negotiations had not been discussed publicly, did not disclose the financial terms of New Orleans' offer.

Gordon, who turned 23 last month, came to New Orleans as part of a multiplayer trade shortly before the regular season that sent Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Gordon has averaged 21 points but has played in only two games this season because of his bruised right knee.

Hornets coach Monty Williams says Gordon is expected to miss at least three more weeks.

I heard about this last night. I feel bad for NO. They traded their best player and the guy that they got for him doesn't wan to resign... but anyway, bring him over! :cookie:

I think that is giving up a lil bit to much for that dude

Windex 01-26-2012 11:06 AM

just a couple weeks ago I heard that he'd be OK with signing an extension

carp 01-26-2012 11:11 AM

too hyped, not good enough.

more like WAY too little.
Gordon for 60 games > Derozan for 80.
Gordon would be an All Star if he was healthier.
And it's not like Gordon has major nagging health issues like Brandon Roy. He just plays through contact a lot and keeps picking up bruised knees and bum ankles. Bad luck. But not necessarily permanent.

I saw a tweet somewhere that they offered him 4/50 and he wants 4/58.

14.5 mill? thats crazy

bigmandinky 01-26-2012 12:10 PM

Throw him a contract worth upwards of 10 mil a year during free agency, move Derozan to sf.

Jose/Kabongo?
Gordon/barbosa
Derozan/JJ
Bargnani/Davis
Valanciunas/Amir

OH BABY!!!:dancing:

Superjudge 01-26-2012 12:10 PM

All I know is that you often hear people talk about Derozan as being athletic.

"Athletic"????

Eric Gordon......he's athletic.

JJ would start over DD. One is a man, the other is not JJ.

Those add up very quickly.... I'd pass. Way too much to give.

INSIDER 01-26-2012 12:26 PM

i dont blame him.... New Orleans is in such a state of flux right now. i dont see anyone wantng to sign/go there.
And thats coming from a raps supporter.

everything adds up. but those are about the least worrisome. Nash had A TON of those early in his career.
now tears or kneecap fractures, that's another thing.

carp 01-26-2012 12:40 PM

still way too much risk for a guy that can't guard the two spot very well

Better yet, then trade derozan and a future pick for a true SF and then draft the best big available in the draft.......making Ed expendable and see what you can get for him.

Ed's value is slipping.... Favors looked pretty good last night... much bigger.

You could still get something for him. He's young and has the tools to rebound and block shots. Offense can be taught

kind of.
he'd be worth it if you knew he'll be healthy. when healthy, there are only like 3-4 better SGs.
i can see why Hornets would pass. i can also understand why Gordon would wait for 58 mil. it's quite likely he'll get it in free agency this year, if he finishes the year healthy.
