Knicks Ellis interested in Knicks

While we were discussing whether or not Golden State keeps Ellis in another thread, here is our answer

This kid is money; 22-yrs-old averaging 20 ppg/season

Ellis, 22, a restricted free agent, is starting to draw a great deal of attention in several sign-and-trade scenarios. A person with knowledge of the situation said nine teams have made inquiries about Ellis. The Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers have shown the most interest. The Knicks, who are searching for point guard help, are not one of those teams, but a second source said the Knicks have been monitoring the situation. Warriors executive vice president Chris Mullin has maintained he intends to sign Ellis.

Knicks president Donnie Walsh and Mullin are close, so Walsh won't act unless Mullin is ready to deal. The source said the potential of an Ellis-Jamal Crawford backcourt "would be dynamic" in the Mike D'Antoni system. Both players averaged 20 points per game this past season. A person close to Ellis said the lightning-quick guard "would be very interested in the Knicks" and especially playing for D'Antoni.

Ellis' agent, Jeff Fried, would not comment on the interest in his client from other NBA teams and said talks with the Warriors are ongoing. "We are continuing discussions," Fried replied in an e-mail.

Yeah but Ellis is more of an SG than PG. He's a scorer who takes a lot of shots every game and I would say put Duhon at PG

Robinson/Duhon
Ellis/Crawford
Richardson
Randolph (?)
Curry

LOL at the idea of Robinson starting. Hes an 8th man AT BEST. I'd love to see that happen.

Robinson/Duhon, btw

Got any better ideas for the team then?

Besides you're underrating Nate too much. 13 ppg, 3 ast last season. 24-yrs-old, and 5'9" above all.

Yeah, trade Lee for Felton or some other pg.

Nate sucks. Dana Barros put up 20 ppg on a bad team, woop dee doo. Nates a chucker who doesnt, and cant play any defence, and has almost no concept of team ball. Maybe later in his career he'll get it, but right now hes just as bad as Marbury on the court minus as much attitude(even though its close), but hes like 5 inches shorter so its probably worse.

Starting him at PG will make the entire league laugh at them even more than they are right now.

Hes never going to be better than an 8th man on any team, hes too small, too selfish, and his attitude is garbage

nate has a bad attitude if a PG schools him or gets a good shot over him he'll want to go back and school him so he wont look bad and then he'll miss that shot

I'm just saying dude it's gonna be hard to turn a team around who went 6th last to move up 10 more spots or so. And it's not like they had an amazing draft pick either.
