Eddie Curry sheds weight

Quote:

Eddy Curry is getting closer to receiving serious attention from the Heat.

Tim Grover said last week that since Curry’s workout with Miami in late June, he has lost another 28 pounds and is now at 300. Curry weighed 350 when he auditioned for Miami in March.

Curry intrigues Pat Riley, who might offer him a minimum deal following the lockout if he loses another 12 pounds or so.

His skills “are there, no question,” Grover said.

If he can Wade through his fast food covered littered floor to find the treadmill, he just might make it.

He dont look 50lbs lighter thats for sure.
For a proffesional athlete he is an absolute disgrace. Isnt this his job. He should be fired. lol.

Maybe 40lbs of it was his hair and the food caught in it.

Damn! I was sure Eddy Curry would become fatter than holy hell during the lockout.

But good for him!

It was well documented that he had asked the Knicks several times, including last year, for cash advances on his pay..... due to outstanding debts being collected and such.

Superjudge 08-17-2011 01:30 PM

who cares why he's motivated.... a healthy minded and bodied Curry is gonna be a really good player for some team.

Mehhh, he'll still be fat and if there's no season he'll have gone what, 3yrs without playing and will be going on 31.

Superjudge 08-17-2011 02:29 PM

he's a good player... we'll see i guess.

Yeah, he was once pretty good. But yo-yoing up and down like that and not playing for 2-3yrs takes it's toll. IMO he might still be decent, but injuries might be an issue depending on wether he's losing the weight properly and his level of activity in the coming months.

if i was an owner of a team, i'd care.
the guy gets paid MILLIONS, then gets confortable and begins to shit his money away, gain weight, and become an absolute bum of a player.
years later, he's broke and only wants back in the league because he cant pay his bills, so then and only then, he decides to get into shape.
what kind of mentality is that? theres no love for the game there... only love for money.
heres a guy that may play well, only to get another decent contract and piss it away and pack on the pounds again when he's comfortable.
this is the reason the league needs to implement salaries based on conditions, or incentive pay, like they have in the NFL...
in order to get paid, Curry would have conditions based on weight, stats, etc.
only then would i want to take a chance on giving him any kind of lucrative contract.
i hope the lockout brings something like this into play. players are motivated by money, and they wont get free-rides anymore, they will have to produce in order to make their money.

Can't defend Curry whatsoever considering I am a Knicks fan...

2008-2009: Played 3 games... $9,723,983 salary
2009-2010: Played 7 games... $10,500,423
2010-2011: Played 0 games... $11,530,592

He literally was paid over $30,000,000 to play 10 games. F* motivation, this guy doesn't even deserve a second chance in the NBA.
