Default EC PLAYOFFS RD 2 - MIAMI WINS: (2)MIA HEAT•4• vs (3)BOS CELTICS•1•

STARTERS:

BOS

Rajon Rondo
Ray Allen
Paul Pierce
Kevin Garnett
Jermaine O'Neal

MIA

Mario Chalmers
Dwyane Wade
Lebron James
Chris Bosh
Zydrunas Ilgauskas

KEY ROTATION PLAYERS:

BOS

Delonte West
Jeff Green
Glen Davis

MIA

Mike Bibby
James Jones
Joel Anthony

Key Matchups:

Too many to list, but heres the main ones:

Rajon Rondo vs Wade/Lebron- I expect MIAs superstars to take turns(rests) on Rondo playing off of him and trying to disrupt the other big 3 in the halfcourt. Rondo is going to have to call his own number more often this series to make them work on defence and to break them down off the dribble. Not using Rondo enough in the pick and rolls will cause droughts for BOS with MIA sagging off him and defending the lane. Rondo will have to also push the ball a lot so BOS can get easier scoring opportunities.

Paul Pierce vs Lebron James- One of the better matchups in the NBA usually. Lebron will likely get his as usual, but the efficiency is what is key. If BOS can make him take a ton of jumpers like in seasons past and defend the paint vs him MIA will have a tougher time scoring than people think.

DWade vs RA/BOS help D- DWade has had his worst games vs BOS this year, and I think that may be attributed to running around after Allen on D. When Chalmers goes out, they're either going to have to put Wade on Allen, or Jones on him. If they keep Chalmers/Jones on Allen and be successful with it, I think we'll see a much different DWade in this series than the 12 ppg on 25% that we saw in a coupel of the games this year.

And of course:

CB4 VS KG- I think this may be the 2nd most important matchup besides the Rondo matchup. KG has had a ton of success vs Bosh in what he usually does vs star PFs, which is faceguarding them and pushing them out to nearly the 3 pt line, all while giving no passing angle to the player hes guarding. Hes by far the best in the league at it, but I expect MIA to go to Bosh more in pick and roll scenarios than ISOs like in the Philly series as its going to be extremely difficult to get a post entry feed in to him. Bosh needs to be super aggresssive off of the attraction that Wade/Lebron will get on the pick and rolls, and try to get BOS in to foul trouble as theyre no where near as deep with Shaq out. If they can get some of the BOS bigmen besides KG in to foul trouble and force Krstic or Green in up front, then MIA will have a decided advantage. Consequently, KG needs to post up a lot more this series and take it to Bosh as hes one of the few with a good advantage for BOS on offence.

PREDICTION:

BOS in 7. It's hard to pick MIA judging from DWade/Lebrons past history vs BOS, and the chemistry/experience factor. I wont be surprised either way though. There really is no matchup that could happen from here on out that beats this one IMO.

Lol... jesus.. can't you be serious for this thread at least?

Miami in 7. They have homecourt and that could be the deciding factor. I would have gone with BOS if they still had Perkins but I'm questioning the Celts' interior D (and rebounding) without him.

Rondo will certainly be the key for the Celts.

Bosh certainly the key for the Heat.

Bosh the key? Now that is funny. Maybe he is the dust on the key, but definitely not the key.

Boston in 6. I think the Bosh/kG match up is the key to that series. If Bosh can assert him self over Kg this will be a series.

It's very funny considering this is the second round and Bosh has never won a playoff round - therefore this is not, can not be, will not be happening.

Boston in 5. Boston is still in their heads and Rondo has shaken off his late season slump.

I agree... Miami looked weak in the first round. Same thing from the regular season- 1 player making plays while the others watch. Will not work against the Celtics.

I want to see better basketball from the Heat for sure. I want to like Lebron, but I've come to realize that anybody can dribble through their legs on the perimeter, kill the shot clock and then launch a 3. And Wade needs to stop taking bad shots, because anybody can take bad shots. And Bosh needs to do more than defer to those two and just play a solid game.

If Boston can get Miami to feed into those tendencies then Boston has every chance of winning, although Miami's defense should not be underestimated. And in fact, I think Boston will allow for a much better Miami offense off of transition. Bibby is going to be the one to watch for me. He has to have a really short leash, and the fact that the rotation ends up being so unsettled is a big problem.

He admitted that the Perkins trade really got to him. His best friend for years was traded out of nowhere. Now, it seems he's focused on the ring.

New York also offered no resistance. I'll wait to see what happens up against a defense and team that isn't completely disorganized before deciding that the Celtics have gotten over some hump.

Miami in 5 if their bench can at least play decently. The bench will be the key, you can't win with three players.

Boston will take the series in 6 (if not before that). They have way more balanced team and have the kind of defense that can win against the one-on-one basketball of Wade-LeBron. And KG will (unfortunately) own Bosh.
