I'm glad that MIA and BOS are flexing their muscles so to speak.

IND or PHI making the EC Finals would have been a waste of time.

Arg. A rope-a-dope series from the Heat.

Am I the only person that thinks it's a little bit suspect the way Granger was injured? After watching the replay, Lebron never even jumped for the ball. He pivoted his foot pretty much perfectly into position to injure Granger without injuring himself.

See for yourself on TSN. NBA.com *happened* to skip it only showing Granger limping off.

Holy. When I first saw this I had stopped paying attention to the game and thought it was just two guys colliding. But Pittman ran straight at Stephenson with his elbow.

Props to the Pacers on this foul and the Haslem foul for taking it like men.

Dwade is a lying pussy and he got scratched and barely slapped. Honest to god... and he has the nerve to bitch in a press conference. I watched it over and over and its a reach around slap. It would take a punch to bust him open the only thing that draws blood is a finger nail there.

And fwiw... LBJ is a douche and that's as intentional as this as he stops his foot under granger. Whole thing is bull... shit.

I think both of those should have been flagrant 2. The Haslem one was clearly a retaliation and he basically hit Hansborough in the face (just doing it while going to foul him in shooting situation to make it look less bad).

And that elbow would have been worth a penalty in ice hockey. It was straight to neck/face area of a guy running at it and you can clearly see that it wasnt accident.

The Pacers are soft, they wilted when the play got rough. Seriously, these fouls are excessive sure but I'd like to see what today's players would have said playing against a guy like Bird - probably one of the most dirtiest AND toughest players in NBA history. Sigh, those were the good ol' days - everything settled on the court and not in the media...

I agree with Bird. Guys like Stevenson and Granger started this mess.... and the Heat finished it. Plain & simple.

I hope you're not referring to Pittmans actions. Pittmans elbow was Bynumesque. Putting your full force in to a guy who's running full sprint to the basket and elbowing him to the throat should be 7+ games and could have seriously hurt Stephenson if it was a bit higher.

This shit is uncalled for. Stern really needs to lay down the law on this one. Eventually this kind of incident is going to happen again and the guy on the receiving end wont be able to play again.

And its crazy how neither Pittmans play nor this

Was called a flagrant 2. Yet Chandlers blind pick on Lebron in the Knicks series was and then reviewed.

I thought the refs were supposed to review any type of flagrant call? The Haslem play came just after Hansbrough flagrant fouled Wade where he got ball first and then continued to swing down and hit him in the face. No denying it should have been a flagrant in todays game due to the hit to the face, but this play Haslem had no intent for going for the ball, he just wanted to hit Hansbrough as hard as he could in mid air and he too hit him in the face but this time with full intent to hurt him.

The refs are a joke.

To be clear Thrills, I'm not saying that Pittman DOESN'T deserve to be suspended for at least 5 games for that... he does.... but this series spiralled out of control because the Pacers tried to act like the mid 90's Knicks and bully the Heat.

It backfired. End of story.

Stupidest thing that you can do to a great player is piss them off. NEVER ends well for you.

as i understand flagrant reviews, they have to review flagrant 2's during the game, and can downgrade them to flagrant 1's, but they can't review flagrant 1's to upgrade them to 2's.

if i am wrong, someone please let me know.

Yeah, it should backfire on the court with what Miami did on the scoreboard. Not some idiot scrub trying to kill another player.

And I think you're right trane. So the refs are just idiots for missing both the first time.

This is my understanding too. From what I read, one ref wanted to call Haslem's a 2 and was talked out of it. How that's not an instant 2 is absolutely cowardly on the ref's part. Get some balls and make the proper call.

Pittman should be out for the playoffs. He already doesn't play, so that wink should have him gone.
