Default EC PLAYOFFS RD 1 : (2)NY KNICKS vs (7)BOS CELTICS

STARTERS:

NYK

Raymond Felton
Pablo Prigioni
Iman Shumpert
Carmelo Anthony
Tyson Chandler

BOS

Avery Bradley
Paul Pierce
Jeff Green
Brandon Bass
Kevin Garnett

KEY ROTATION PLAYERS:

NYK

Jason Kidd
JR Smith
Chris Copeland
Kenyon Martin

BOS

Courtney Lee
Jason Terry
Jordan Crawford

Key Matchups:

This should be the best Eastern Conference first round match up because of the history of the two teams and the intensity involved with most of their games. This is one of the closest match ups considered to be a rivalry in the NBA nowadays. The biggest key in the series is Bostons 3 point defence and how they're going to defend Melo and JR Smith off of the dribble while attempting to shut off the 3 point line. The Knicks are the better team, but you can't count out Bostons experience and chemistry. I think NY has too much talent and they're clicking right now, so although I hope the series goes to 7 games, I see NY winning in 5 or 6.

PREDICTION:

NY in 6

Celts are old and smart. Unless the deal Melo made with Satan extends into the playoffs, I have the Celtics in 6.

I just have a hunch that Boston takes it. It will be very interesting and wouldn't be a series I would bet on.

NY in 6. Boston will put up a fight. Boston doesn't really have any inside threats so New York's lack of big men won't be too much of an issue and they can start Melo at the 4.

Ya I agree. Jeff Green will be the key piece to the series I think.

I took New York in 6. 1st time in quite a few years that the Knicks are going into the playoffs with home court advantage in a round - Gardens fans should be going crazy.

NY in 7

This will probably be the most fun first round EC matchup since they are relatively evenly matched and the experience level is around par. Melo playing the best basketball of his career will pull them out in MSG.

NY in 5, easy series vs the geezers without their average point guard.

This should be a great matchup, can go either way but I think Boston will have more of an advantage playing at home versus NY,i think the Knicks will struggle in Bean town. Big time players like Pierce and KG get motivated when at MSG, Boston in 7....Forgot about the whole " Honey Nut Cheerios" thing......Melo will get thrown off his game, possibly even tossed from one.

I think most of the games will be close but in the end the Knicks have more talent at this point. NY in 5.

Picked NY in 6. They have two guys in Melo and J.R that can get buckets when the defense tightens up. But considering they are both jump shooters - as is the rest of the Knicks offense - and Boston can counter with some stingy perimeter defenders, I can envision the Celts winning this one, too.

NY in 6, too much offence for Boston I think. But they've surprised more than once.

Boston in 6. NY is terrible, they don't deserve 2nd seed and Boston is too good to be 7th

Voted NY in 7, and then though they'll probably wrap it up in 6. The first game can't come soon enough!

I'm no fan of either, but if I had to pick in order for who I would want to lose in the east, it would be this:

Heat
Boston
Knicks
