Default EC PLAYOFFS RD 1: (1)IND PACERS vs (8)ATL HAWKS

STARTERS:

IND

George Hill
Lance Stephenson
Paul George
David West
Roy Hibbert

ATL

Jeff Teague
Kyle Korver
Demarre Carroll
Paul Millsap
Pero Antic

KEY ROTATION PLAYERS:

IND

CJ Watson
Evan Turner
Luis Scola

ATL

Shelvin Mack
Louis Williams
Mike Scott
Elton Brand

Key Matchups:

Indianas size inside(whether they actually use it) versus Atlanta's small lineups and 3 point shooting. Indiana has had a lot of trouble guarding Atlanta this year behind the 3 point line, and having Antic out there opens up the lane for Teague to operate, and results in a lot of easy perimeter shots for ATL. We'll get a good idea of which Pacers team(1st half of reg season or 2nd half) shows up for the playoffs immediately in game 1, as ATL is actually a really bad matchup for them.

PREDICTION:

IND in 7

Pacers in 6. I think they will get the majority of the calls throughout the series and in at least 1 or 2 games Hibbert will dominate down low with the Hawks having no answer to stop him.

I like when you make these polls public -it's more interesting seeing who thinks what. I think they were public a few years ago.

I'll do so in the upcoming threads(or if the mods can change this now for both current threads it'd be appreciated). I completely forgot that it was an option.

I think Indy might coast, and a few of the games will be closer than they need to be, but I just don't think this particular Hawks team is going to push it past 5 games. Atlanta failed to win 40 games, and although the Pacers have struggled recently, they still beat the Thunder on the weekend. That should remind us that they are an elite team.

Two match-ups make this a close series.

Antic taking Hibbert out on the perimeter

and

Teague absolutely dominating the point guard match-up.

If George Hill can regain some confidence and contribute like an equal-part player which he was two years ago, the Pacers will look like the Pacers of old and win in 5.

IMO, Hibbert isn't going to defend Antic. It's probably going to be up to West and Scola.

Well then he's guarding Paul Millsap who has 20 games this year with multiple three point makes including a game with 7 makes against the Heat.

Either way he's matched-up with somebody who he needs to guard at the three point line.
