EC PLAYOFFS RD 1 : (1)CHI BULLS vs (8)PHI 76ERS

STARTERS:

CHI

Derrick Rose
Rip Hamilton
Luol Deng
Carlos Boozer
Joakim Noah

PHI

Jrue Holiday
Jodie Meeks
Andre Iguodala
Elton Brand
Nikola Vujevic

KEY ROTATION PLAYERS:

CHI

CJ Watson
Ronnie Brewer
Kyle Korver
Taj Gibson
Omer Asik

PHI

Lou Williams
Evan Turner
Thaddeus Young
Spencer Hawes

Key Matchups:

The one upside PHI has going in to this series is they can play to a standstill one of CHIs biggest advantages, which is their bench. CHIs bench is arguably the best in the NBA, but PHI comes off the bench with 4 guys all capable of putting 15+ points in any particular game.

Derrick Rose and rebounding(as in most cases) will be the key in this series if PHI wants to win games though. I expect Iguodala to shut down Deng as he usually does, so if Jrue Holiday can play decent, and if Rose is still not fully healthy, PHI may actually have a shot at winning a game or two in this series.

PREDICTION:

CHI in 5. CHI SHOULD receive a bigger test than they may imagine as PHI doesnt match up all that horribly with them, but I think the main internal test for CHI is to try and get the Rose/Hamilton backcourt in stride heading in to the next tough 2 upcoming rounds.

Rose was looking good. And now - not so much. Damn.

Nites 04-28-2012 03:50 PM

What type of injury does Rose have now?

Left Knee.

Good thing is, he could sit the rest of this series and Chicago would still win.

LightsOut 04-28-2012 04:34 PM

why was rose left in with 1:10 left with 10+ pt lead? and why the hell is he attacking so viciously when the game is in the bag

RaptorsandBuckeye FaN 04-28-2012 05:25 PM

Reports out that Rose has an torn ACL and MCL in his left Knee. Done for the postseason.

NBCMiami has just retracted this report.

Wow Rose is out for the playoffs with a torn ACL. The playoffs just turned sucky.

shenmui 04-28-2012 07:03 PM

Yeah, now's official: torn acl. He's been very unlucky this season.

ScottMescudi 04-28-2012 07:20 PM

It's kind of sad since the game was already over.

Don Vito 04-28-2012 07:22 PM

What was Rose doing in the game anyways? Its the coaches fault.

box92 04-28-2012 07:31 PM

might as well put the heat in the finals -___-

'trane 04-28-2012 07:33 PM

to thibodeau's credit, a 20 point lead was trimmed to 12. that might be enough reason to keep rose in there with a minute and a half left.

well, the rose-less bulls are stilla pretty solid team. they'll get past philly. but boston must, indeed, be pumped.

DonMughal 04-28-2012 07:58 PM

:sigh: I can't even watch the Bulls without Rose. I hate every single player. While Rose is my favourite player in the league.

NOOOOOOOOOO

Also, given how the injury came with no contact, and resulted from a play Rose frequently attempts, I think there was potential for some part of his leg to give way at any time in the series. If not today, maybe a few days from now. He's just been really injured this year without a lot of time to rest. Due to the way he plays, he was probably an injury waiting to happen, until he gets proper rest.

neojiphre 04-29-2012 02:48 AM

Well my prediction is looking good
