According to Chad Ford, the Warriors are shopping Ellis and offering the 6th pick as part of the package. This is the kind of deal that kills two birds with one stone...er...deal. You can get a decent pick for building toward the future while also obtaining a player who can keep the team competitive by taking the scoring pressure off of Bargnani (who is really a number two option). But I'd only like this deal if Hedo and Calderon were ditched. Even if this move is part of a rebuild, I couldn't stand to watch Ellis play with Hedo or Calderon. That could get uglier than last year.

If this is legit, I think other teams would easily be able to outbid the Raps, so it will probably just benefit someone else. *shrugs shoulders*

If Memphis is still willing to offer a package including OJ Mayo, then GS should take that.

Sorry for not being clearer, I was not suggesting GS would take either Hedo or Caldy. I meant I want Hedo or Caldy ditched, regadless of how it is done or where they go, before I'd want to have Ellis on the Raps. GS is clearly trying to clear contracts, so taking Hedo or Caldy makes no sense whatsoever. I should have been clearer. I was talking a couple of seperate moves.

Although GS apparently wanted Bargs in the past, I'm not sure what they'd take from the Raps now. They might want expirings, the 13th pick and Derozan. It seems like GS is most concerned with getting expirings because of the possible sale of the team. They want limited financial commitments so that it's easier to sell the team. I think GS will want a combination of expirings and cheap rookie contracts, or just a couple of rookie contracts. Rookie contracts are ideal because they are cheap and the players still have some potential to develop. Just getting expirings is like giving up. It appears that they are giving up on getting something for Biedrins, assuming that Kenyon Martin rumor is somewhat accurate.

I could see a team like Memphis come in and offer Mayo + Thabeet for Ellis and the player drafted at #6. Or another team doing something similar to that.
