Ball Don't Lie 12-09-2008 02:51 AM

Dwyane Wade

I think right now he is playing better than anyone in the league, and has been the leagues best player this year.

Hes pretty much singlehandedly got them to 12-9. The way he controls the game in crunchtime is like Brandon Roy on crack.

Now if he'd only stop travelling everytime he does that sidestep move I'd start to actually like him as a player. The refs made the biggest bailout call of all time at the end of the game tonight(after Wade did the 4 step sidestep move, he ran into Dudley then missed badly, and Dudley was set outside the circle and the refs called a foul 30 minutes later which almost caused Larry Brown heart failure).

Besides being D whistle, its hard to see any flaws in the guys game. He gets to the basket at will, has one of the best midrange jumpers in the league, and is one of the best at the drive and dish in the game. And he avgs like 3 blocks a game somehow.

If Beasley does develop into a Bosh like player, all the Heat really need is a decent starting center and theyre basically set because they do have some very good role players on their team as well.

Just goes to show you how far Bosh still has to go to be considered a top 5 player in the league.

I love Wade, but the fact that he is governed by a separate set of rules from the rest of the league is beyond irritating.

Just in the last Raps game every possession he got away with either palming the ball or taking extra steps and the refs blow the whistle just for looking at him the wrong way. Not to mention some of the ridiculous continuation calls where he gets where he's clearly fouled on the floor...:dead:

It wouldn't be irritating if he was playing for the Raps...

Don't get me wrong, I would sell my first born if it meant we could get Wade here. :mischief:

Wade is an animal.
an absolute animal.
the thing that amazes me more than anything else is his ability to get to the rim.
and he just doesnt drive and dash it up, he drives hard, and powers it home everytime. and he does this at will.
if you get up tight on him, he flies right by... you give him space and he'll hit the jumper... double him and he'll find a wide open teammate.
he's a stat stuffing whore.
rebs, assists... even on the defensive side of the ball he excels at steals and now blocks!
thats what makes him different IMO to Lebron... Wade actually goes hard on D just as much as offense, and doesnt take plays off.
the HEat will easily be in the playoffs this season, and no team will want to match up with them. not just because they will be fighting a unstoppable superstar, but because they will also be fighting the refs.

That's even more irritating the Raps will never get that type of love from the refs because we are not an American team.

Yeah, but if he gets injured which tends to happen to him the team will sink into the abyss, lol.

which is exactly why i didnt pick him for my fantasy squad this season...
but thats looking like it will be a mistake.
he is showing no signs of injury or timmidness.
his last 2 years in the league, you could tell he was playing hurt and he was tender and brittle. but this year he is 100%, and he's smartened up when in the paint; he avoids contact even more than before when he drives, sort of like a finesse/power move.
he may go 82 games this year if he can keep this up.

Seeing him at the Olympics i was saying how much bigger and stronger he looked, im not really shocked at all.

The traveling keeps me from really really loving him too. When he was here, he just went for a stroll along the perimeter, carrying the ball like a big bouquet of roses. And nothing!

TORaptor4Ever 12-09-2008 05:45 PM

Wade's been my favourite player in the league for a long while now. He actually reminds me a lot of VC before he turned into a pussy. His tenacity on both ends of the floor is captivating and the fact that he gets to the rim at will while not having any semblance of a reliable 3-pt shot just continues to amaze me.

I would kill to have him pair up with Bosh in 2010.
