What makes it so sweet for me was that Perkins was the defender. I get tired of Perkin's scowl.

Going over guys is fine... just like LBJ jumping over that kid the other night (that wasn't as impressive as people think).... The dunks that make me spill my drink are when guys go right through the other player.

IN YO FACE!

Those are bad dunks.

This was more impressive to me than Lebron's dunk because Perkins is the better defender

The Mozgov "dunk" wasn't a "dunk", his hands didn't even touch the rim.

Your hands don't need to touch the rim.

Heres a definition of slam dunk...

A shot in which a player thrusts the ball emphatically down through the basket.
There are no slam dunk definitions where it says your hands have to touch the rim, go try and find one.

Update: Kendrick Perkins deletes his Twitter account after Perkins dunk

Quote:
Apparently, Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins has had all he can take of the pounding he is receiving from the Twitterverse, and the internet as a whole, following the wicked posterization issued him by Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin last night.

Originally responding to the hecklers earlier today by saying that “these things happen”, Perkins has now apparently deleted his Twitter account:

I'm shocked that Perkins is the kind of guy who would be sensitive enough to pay attention to twitter that much.

Who the hell cares? Guys like 'Zo and Mutumbo and Hakeem are some of the greatest defensive C's ever and they've been posterized a bunch of times.

times are different and perk isn't the most liked guy, to put it in a nice way. so people just jumping on this perfect opportunity
if this happened to any of those guys you mentioned, it wouldn't be as bad cuz they were well liked

Ha. I think it would have happened to 'Zo for SURE... his personality was very similar to Kendrick's.

I think it's a sign of the times more than anything else though. Social media brings out the haters like nothing else. What has Perkins done that's been so reprehensible? He plays hard. Big deal.

Who cares about Perkins? Hes nobody. The dunk isn't popular because Perkins is in it, its popular because Griffin was in it. Griffin could of dunked on anybody and it would still get this much hype.

I wouldn't call Perkins a nobody.. he's a pretty solid defender who brings a meanness to a team, a very old school kind of player.

But yeah, Blake has to start actually touching the rim. I know it seems like a technicality, but IMO, a dunks a dunk when you make contact with the rim. Seems like an aggressive layup by a guy who can jump really high in this case.

I hate agreeing with you, but I have to here

Plus, 'Zo and those dudes were also more well-known. More fans = more haters.

god damn whats with the hostility in some of ur posts....jeez. and to completely miss the point on top of that.
i'm not talking about anything to do with the popularity of the dunk. i'm talking about the hate towards the guy getting dunked on.
take that mozgov dunk for example. it was probably worse in terms of embarassment (his face was in blakes crotch)
