Pistons Dumars Ready To Pull The Trigger?

Check out these rumours I read this morning from the RealGM.

First rumor: Rasheed Wallace for Tyson Chandler. As per wiretap. Tyson is a defensive stud, plain and simple. He can't do much on offense, but with the other players on his team he won't need to be an offensive option. And he's younger than Sheed. Dumars fleeces NO.

Second rumor: Rip Hamilton for Carlos Boozer. This one seems to have been floating around in and out on Detroit radio stations and I see this as the main trade in which the Tyson/Sheed swap will be based. And I think it goes down IF they can get Boozer to an extension. With the make up of this team, Detroit wins. They have AI to replace Rip and Stuckey finally has the starting spot all to himself, no worries.

Stuckey
AI
Prince
Boozer
Chandler

. . . wow.

Utah Jazz forward Carlos Boozer will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.

I think it means he's out for at least a month

I'm not sure why N.O. would deal Chandler for Sheed right now. I understand the Boozer move completely. Millsap deserves to start for Utah and Boozer is leaving so get something for him while you still can.

I don't think these are happening.

A Sheed for CHandler deal helps New Orleans in a VERY short run, but what happens when Sheed is a FA after this season? I can't see that deal happening.

The Rip for Boozer might be a little more plausible because Rip wants out and Boozer is leaving in the off-season anyways...

New Orleans's payroll next season is $77 million, threatening owner George Shinn with a $6 million luxury-tax bill that he can't afford.
The Hornets would drop below the threshold when Wallace's $13.9 million salary comes off the books this summer, and they can claim that he improves their immediate title hopes by providing a versatile scoring option to go with Chris Paul and David West.

He is making moves for the future that leave his team still competitive now, he is a great GM and even if they dont win this year or next they will have cap room.
