Default Dream one-on-one player matchup #1

Pete Maravich vs Steve Nash

Two of the most creative players in NBA history, Steve Nash and Pete Maravich are both deadly shooters from anywhere on the court.

Maravich though is a better scorer, although Nash has earned a fairly comparable place in history thanks to his incredible game-management skills. The Pistol is going to fire more accurately and more often here.

Winner: Pete Maravich
who would you pick?

As much as I love Stevie, there's no way he could stay in front of the Pistol. He has a hard enough time as it is guarding average NBAers.

Basically, if Pete gets first ball and the rules are scorer gets the ball back, I'd say the final score is somewhere around 21-0.

Steve is pistol-lite.

Just interested where the quote was taken from.

One-on-one Pete would win because he is a more dynamic scorer, but the blurp is false in saying that he's more accurate than Steve Nash at shooting because he's not. In three-on-three Nash would dismantle the Pistol.

Nobody could make something out of nothing like Maravich, as a shooter and a passer. 3 on 3 would make it more interesting, but I'd still give it to Pete in all likelihood.

Offensively Maravich was unstoppable. He averaged over 24 pts per game in the NBA.

What is really ridiculous is his college numbers at LSU, especially for a guard:

1966-67 - 43.6 pts per game
1967-68 - 43.8
1968-69 - 44.2
1969-70 - 44.5

Yea the guy averaged over 44 pts per game (unadjusted for more minutes) over 4 years = absurd.

Without a 3 point line too, I think.
