Pacers Drama in Indy

Quote:
Starting guards T.J. Ford and Jarrett Jack had to be separated during a timeout in the middle of the third quarter of Friday's loss to Dallas.

The two started arguing on the court and brought it to the huddle. Stephen Graham, Josh McRoberts and assistant coach Jay DeFruscio all went over to try and calm Jack down.

Jack was sent to the locker room by coach Jim O'Brien. Ford was also taken out, but he checked back in with 8:54 remaining in the fourth quarter.

"We had a situation where Jarrett and T.J. had a dispute on the court," O'Brien said. "I subbed for them and didn't want to carry it over. I asked Jarrett to take the rest of the night off. That was my decision."

Jack had already left the locker room by the time the media arrived.

"I think it was the heat of the moment," Ford said. "At the end of the day you really don't want the fans to see that going on, especially during the game when you have kids. I want to apologize for my actions and what took place."

It's unknown why the two were arguing, but I was told this had been "brewing" for some time between them.

The argument came after Ford was the only player to take a shot on three straight possessions.

Jack was expected to travel with the team to Charlotte for Saturday's game against the Bobcats.

Don't shoot the messenger. I like TJ, just thought this might interest some of you.

I wish we had someone with balls to stand up to Ford when he was hogging and killing our playoff run.

I say we pursue JJ.

Here are this season's stats for all involved (and a comparison to where Jose is). Not making a comment either way, I just thought it was interesting, especially when you look at the Pacers vs. Raptors records. Jack is having a pretty good season, I'm impressed.

Ford: PPG 15.2 RPG 3.50 APG 5.2 EFF + 15.08

Jack: PPG 12.6 RPG 3.20 APG 3.8 EFF + 12.54

Calderon: PPG 12.7 RPG 3.00 APG 8.6 EFF + 18.42

Indiana: 28-42

Toronto: 24-45

T.J has always created drama since entering the NBA, with all 3 teams he's been on. No surprise!

The Pacers should package TJ and Murphy in a trade and get a legitimate scoring big man.

The whole story presented here makes it look that way as well.

Checked the site out, and every single poster there seems to be blaming TJ( not for the incident, but his play as a whole from what i gather).

Last time i saw him play, apart from the raptor game was a while ago( @ portland) and he had a pretty good game( he was selfish towards the end of that game, but the shots he hit were big). So i'm actually a bit surprised by all this.

seems like the same stuff that he pulled here, except that Calderon was the bigger man and let him have his way.
i think even if Calderon stepped up to ford like jack did, we would love Calderon even more

Yeah everyone I've heard says Jack was the aggresor. I don't think TJ is stupid enough to sulk again after the last two teams, and he does have the starting PG role and is getting lots a minutes. From what I gather though TJ taking 3 shots in a row instigated Jack to get pissed. So it's a bit on both ends.

Regardless though I don't think Indy's a good fit for TJ at all. O'Brien's system is based on shooting and non-PG ball movement. TJ's game is much better suited when he can dominate and control the ball.

Funnily enough I think Jose would be perfect in Indy

A couple games ago he scored 11pts/3asts (28 minutes) and was hogging the ball non stop at the end of the game trying to win the game essentially by himself. Ahhhhhhhh, they lost!
