Dorsey: Chicago Will Take Beasley

Apparently Rose's teammate Joey Dorsey has gotten the low down on who's going where with the #1 & #2 picks and if that's true, then we lose one more suitor in the Heat for Ford or Jose because if Beasley goes first overall then Miami get their man in Rose.

"Chicago's got a lot of pressure on them because Derrick's from Chicago," Dorsey said, "but they're going to take Beasley. I've got the inside. They're going to get Beasley."

Bulls Vice President John Paxson has adamantly denied reaching a decision.

If it's true (I don't buy Chicago's made their decision yet, but if they do take Beasely), we should really try whatever we can to get Lol Dang, he'd easily be the second scorer we're looking for. It'll be difficult because Chicago has Hinrich, but if it's also true they want to get rid of him, it might open up some options.

In dreamland:

Calderon + Rasho's expiring (or Kapono) + 17 if it's needed

for

Hinrich and Deng

Then trade TJ seperately for whatever we can get. Roll out Hinrich, Deng, Bosh, and whoever we can get for Ford (If the Bargnani and TJ for Biedrins deal happened, OMG. Though it won't.) Chicago builds around Calderon, Gordon, Beasely, and frees up some capspace by next year, as opposed to giving up lots of $ to sign Deng and pay Kirk's big contract.

If the Bulls do infact pick Beasley, you can pretty much guarantee that Hinrich is going nowhere fast. Overall I still think Kirk is better than Jose or Ford and that last season was just a disaster for everyone in Chicago and in turn Kirk had a terrible year. If this team can turn it around Hinrich will be a big part of that turnaround. But if they select Rose, well then its safe to say the the Bulls will have to shop Kirk.

Either way, I don't see the Bulls as a realistic trade partner this summer unfortunately.

Bulls would be smart to select Beasley. He's the best player on the board.

Makes a Nocioni for Ford deal even more feasible.

Hinrich then gets dealt for a big man.

Bulls roll out Ford, Gordon, Deng, Beasley as a starters. Sounds good to me.

Rose says he was just playing too... and he says Beasely is better than him. Being humble, or wanting the Heat? I'd rather go to D Wade/Marion/Riley than the Bulls too.

Rose: Beasley Is Better Than Me
May 30, 2008 - 11:01 am
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel -
Memphis point guard Derrick Rose believes that fellow top prospect Kansas State forward Michael Beasley is the better player, according to The South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

"It's definitely him," Rose said of Beasley, when asked about which was the superior player. "He's way better than me. He's versatile."

The pair also spent time over the last few days discussing rumors that Rose's teammate Joey Dorsey had "inside information" that the Bulls were going to take Beasley.

"He was just in the arcade room and I was just asking him what was he thinking when he said that," Rose said with a grin. "He was just playing around. If anybody knows, it wouldn't be Joey." [READ]
