Don Nelson doesn't want to coach anymore, but...

As if the Warriors weren't in the news enough already.

Quote:
The word is that Don Nelson doesn't want to coach the Golden State Warriors anymore and will step down but it will take longer than most people expected, according to the Contra Costa Times.

Even with the disappearance of Stephen Jackson and Acie Law to the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for Raja Bella and Vladimir Radmanovic, Nelson is apparently not very excited about coaching Monta Ellis and all the other young guys on the team. But there is one big thing supposedly holding him back from calling it quits: Lenny Wilkens.

Nelson has to win 21 more games to break the NBA all-time wins record that Wilkens now holds. Once Nelson has that under his big belt, there's not much incentive to stay on board.

So the expectation is that if he can feel that he's getting closer to that goal on a consistent enough basis, Nelson will stay till he sets a new record and then go home.

Yes, maybe this will serve as motivation for the GS players. The better you play, the quicker he's gone.

Just saw this on RealGm (posted without a link so take it for what it's worth)

Multiple sources say that Warriors are actively trying to trade Monta Ellis. Ellis' camp could get permission to try to make a deal.
Not surprising. What i said yesterday was that they should have traded him with Jackson and got alot more in return.

My question is, would anyone do a Jose/? for Ellis trade?

Ellis/Jack
Derozan/Belinelli
Turkoglu/Wright
Bosh/Evans/Johnson
Bargnani/Rasho/POB
