I can't believe we couldn't get a 2nd rounder for #43.

Dejuan Blair probably would have gone mid-1st round if there was not a red flag on his medical record. The other guys are solid rotation players, but nothing too crazy...yet Thornton has shown flashes of scoring brilliance, although he's also completely dissapeared for Sacramento, at times.

What really impresses me about the 2009 draft is the number of starting PGs that went in the first round:

Curry
Rubio
Jennings
Holiday
Lawson
Collison
Teague

also, Maynor, who might start one day, and Flynn, who probably won't amount too much but might eventually show something.

They are all solid bench players who I'd love to have on our bench.

Aren't 2nd rounders supposed to be solid bench players at best? It's either they are rotation players or usually nothing.

A real wow is Blair or Thornton.

A real wow is Blair or Thornton.
And Budinger. He is almost always good when he gets the min.

BTW I really don't see how you guys think Meeks is a bench player at best when he's starting and shooting 43% from 3. He is a great SG.

Yep and that what caused Calderon's re-evaluation. All of a sudden the league filled up with pacey PGs. Jose fought injuries on top of that. But before that draft, very few would think he didn't deserve 11mil/year.
