Derrick Rose ACL Torn

Sports fans with even passing knowledge of anterior cruciate ligament tears know how these things work. It's the most important of three significant ligaments that help our knees do the fabulous things they do for our bodies, whether that means crouching in order to scrounge for the cheaper brands of cereal in the breakfast aisle or coming to a jump stop in the midst of nearly dropping a triple-double while leading the team with the NBA's best regular-season record to its first win in the playoffs. Derrick Rose tore his ACL on Saturday in the fourth quarter of Chicago's win over Philadelphia, and the effects of this sort of injury cannot be overstated.

i assume it means he's out for 3-6 months now

Will he ever be quite the same is the bigger issue. It's pretty depressing. Hopefully he comes back even better and stronger like MJ did.

Well the Heat are gonna have an easy trip back to the Finals now.

forget the playoffs. rose may be one of many players that come back after an injury less effective. hope not.

Hope there's no permanent damage but I don't mind if he comes back less effective. less competition. :cookie:

Hey, Sam Bowie could run the Bobcats better, and that's all I'm gonna say about that.

A similar situation to me is Penny Hardaway, both are strong, athletic, explosive PGs, Penny had a different injury I think, but he just sort of faded away with injuries. I hope that doesn't happen to Rose

And completely OT, but where do you get your avatars LX? Do you make them yourself because they're hilarious.

I just hope rose adapts to his body as kobe and mj did. LeBron is to some degree.

Recovery from these types of injuries have improved leaps and bounds in the past decade or two. That said, an ACL is a 6 month recovery if you're lucky. Most people don't get back to 100% until the second year after the injury. That's a massive blow to a young guy just getting into his prime.

Even with rose there still not good enough to beat the heat. They need another star player. Deng and boozer are good but there not good enough. Don't know what te answer is but there stuck like th Knicks in the 90s against the bulls. Ironic how bulls fan are in for a ton playoff failures
