Dee Brown to the Suns? are the Raptors missing something?

Quote:
PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns signed Dee Brown on Wednesday, ending their search for another backup point guard.

After a successful career at Illinois, Brown was drafted by Utah in the second round in 2006. He appeared in 49 regular-season games as a rookie for the Jazz. He played the 2007-08 season with a team in Turkey
story

two point guards acquired for pretty much nothing. Both would help this team and both were not picked up by BC.

It's unfortunate that we have JO's contract. I LOVE what he does for this team, as he brings an element that we haven't had in the middle for a long long time, but his contract really does hamper what we're trying to do.

I remember Dee Brown from his Illinois days, and I wanted us to draft him ever since, I think if the Raps are trying to be more "up tempo" than we have in the past, DB would have been the perfect addition. Although, I think Roko is going to be a really good player, and giving him the time now may be the best option.

perhaps, but he is at least 2 years away and dee brown can step in and play now... jo's contracts hangs like a noose around BC's neck!

takman, you gotta let this go. if we never made the jo deal, tj and rasho's contracts would be around his neck too. this makes no significant difference to our cap situation. how many times do i have to explain this to you?

didn't we take back more salary than we sent out in the trade?

anyway... i wonder how this affect barbosa? i've noticed his minutes are down and dee can do the same type of things (poor man style) and maybe fit in backing up the point better.

technically, yes. tj ($8 mil), rasho ($8.5 mil) and baston ($1.7 mil) are less than jo's $21.3, but the amount is insignificant for adding a player that would make a true difference.

Another player who played in Istanbul last year. Solomon was clearly much better than this kid in the Turkish league but yes he has some basketball IQ and he can stay calm at times. But he has not got much talent. Another bench warmer for Phoenix. They could have worked on Dragic who has some talent than turning to Brown.

Well we were trading TJ for someone no matter what

Rasho's 8 mil expiring would've been an EXCELLENT trading chip
