Apparently Heat fans are willing to opt out as well

I think he will be back on a long term deal, less money per year as long as Wade and Bosh are there as well with the possibility to add a few more pieces.

But on a serious note, they aren't even that bad, media just gives them a lot of flak because of the lower seats. This is a fan base that had 9th highest attendance in a year they went 15-67 with wade out, they still went.
Also, half our fan base in the playoffs were the definition of band wagoners. I know a few who couldn't even name the starting lineup.

How much are the Heat willing to pay him?

Even though they didn't win title, they did win the east four straight years..

I find it fairly obvious that LeBron will take a pay cut along with Wade and Bosh in order to make room for Melo. Don't think he ever plays for a 3rd team. It'll be Miami or Cleveland until he retires.

14-16 home games is about 14-16 million dollars. Considering they wouldn't even make the playoffs without him (bold exagerration), they will pay him whatever he wants and he stays in Miami instead of becoming a pariah again.

Question, does Miami even deserve him, empty seats for that talent is a shame

DonMughal 06-25-2014 12:01 AM

I just realized today that LeBron shot 57% for the season. OMG. I knew it was over 50 but damn man.

it really is phenomenal when u factor in the amount of 3's he takes.

i wonder if bosh/wade opt out, that really is the key for miami's chance.

man this off season going to be real fun.

According to Hoopshype, Bosh will most likely opt out and Wade probably won't - if in Wades spot I probably wouldn't either. It would probably balance the 3 salary wise over their tenure as a Heat since Wade took less originally.

Depending on what the 2 sign for it could be enough to sign a player like Lowry, Deng or Frye...or Deng or Lowry and use a mid type for Frye.

I can still see Wade opting out and taking a bit less for a few years though - even 17 for all 3 would give them the ability to sign a quality player. Most likely LBJ will have an opt out clause as soon as it's contractually allowed ( can he opt out after a year or 2 even? If he can then that changes a lot of things)

Edit: sorry, had posted this in the other thread though it makes better sense here

It wasn't so much a matter of attendance as it was leaving early and just being poor fans in general. Watching Miami games even when the arena was full it sounded like noone was there. You could sometimes hear some chanting from the upper seats but in the lower bowl the 'fans' just sat motionless and silent. It was weird to watch.

Wade is washed up. They need to kick him out of the boy band if they want to stand a chance.

Wictory 06-25-2014 10:22 AM

I wonder how players like Lowry and deng who are being thrown around as add ons for the heat feel about it. I'm sure they're not completely gun ho about it. Not everyone is a old ring chasing, some have competitive integrity. No quality player that is not out of his prime has joined the heat since the big three. It could be financial limitations , but could also be for other reasons

The Heat made season seat holders buy 3 years worth of seats after the Shaq championship. They sucked the following years.

I was at one of those games vs Raptors. There might have been 3000 in the stadium. The paper the next day reported over 16K in attendance.

This is most likely. Many quality players won't have the opportunity to earn income like the top tier players when their careers are done. Makes sense to maximize their earnings now...not a personal decision so much as a smart financial one. I don't think Lowry or Deng would think of themselves as an "add on" as Wade is half the player he was, so whomever they get will have to compete and contribute with the expectations they will be playing for the title.

I like Deng the most for the Heat but I'm biased.
