On this day 15 years ago...

SPACE JAM opened, subsequently defining an era. Went to see it when I was eight, but instead opted for Jingle All the Way. A decision that serves as my biggest regret to date. Watched it months later on VHS - the same day MJ and the Bulls downed the Jazz in '97. That day, basketball became my favourite sport. I truly believe Kubrick was well on his way to developing a sequel before he passed. Nevertheless, the original is, and forever will be, culturally and historically significant.

Please share your personal Space Jam memories:

I first watched Space Jam as an 8 year old at my grandma's house. She was babysitting me and I was flipping through her VHS's to see if she had anything worth watching. It was there that I found this masterpiece. Stuck that thing in the VCR and it changed my life forever. :cookie:

Probably my favourite basketball movie, along with Like Mike.

I always found this movie to be nothing but a PR scheme. Considering his fathers death was linked to gambling as well as Jordans hiatus to basketball might have been because of the same reason. Nonetheless like Kobe MJ came out smelling like roses after this and continued making a shit load of cash.

I was a year old when it came out. But I guess a few years later I took interest in it, as I ended up with the entire bed spread. Didn't really care for bball at that point, but I always loved the movie.
