What the fuck? Is Garnett retiring? This makes no sense.

How? Depth especially in season like this is critical for an ageing Boston. Also he could play PF and Garnett C.

How the hell are they going to do it? did they amnesty KG? want to buy details.

also, poor Pacers, they seemed to be going hard at West.

Garnett as much as it hurts me to say isnt anywhere near as athletic and mobile as he was just 2 years ago. He couldnt play center consistantly when he was super athletic because of his frame and the wear and tear, what makes you think he can do it now when he cant move nearly as well?

And I just dont get West coming off the bench when hes still in his prime. Boston is going to get creamed on the boards if they start the 2 together as much as I like both players.

i guess they want him off the bench.... KG isnt a spring chicken anymore, no way he can handle the C spot.

yes, KG at 5 makes no sense. I think KG is still the better player and going at Nene would make way more sense if they got that much money.
But where do they get the money? A Rondo trade that we are going to find out about? KG amnesty? KG retirement? There's something bigger here, if it's all true.

KG can't handle the schedule this season. His minutes will probably be somewhat monitored.

who knows, 99 Spurs were an old team. They had a young Duncan but they wouldn't have won without the old parts handling the schedule extremely well.
And all the other deep playoff teams in '99 were old - Knicks, Portland, Utah, Indiana.

It was a battle of 34 year olds really.

Interesting. He thinks 10Mil/yr is taking less money?? Is it just me or are these players getting overpayed more than ever?

Quote:
David West is close to a three-year sign-and-trade deal just under $30 million with the Celtics.

Boston will send Jermaine O'Neal and another player in exchange for West. O'Neal will presumably be flipped by the Hornets to another team.

While West found the market less robust than he was expecting, he will take less money to play for a contender.

Are you guys kidding? Below 30 mil for David West??? That's extremely low. That would be starting at ~9 mil and ending at 10.5 or so? Only 3 years.

Compared to what the other guys are asking, Celtics will score a major win here.

Also, he's not injury prone, he had one single injury in his rather short career so far. Either he's healed or not. He's not someone who's got tons of wear and tear like KG. Remember, West joined the league very late.

Tell me about it. Injury prone + 31yrs old.

To me that's about 2-3Mil/yr too much.

I'd love to buy specifics. So far i've heard that West is signed by Boston, Jermaine O'Neal is traded to a third team, and Hornets may get something out of this.

If Hornets get a pick or something, so what? David West is no longer a Hornet, unlike Chris Paul. Hornets aren't adding overpaid injury prone players while being bankrupt. They'd just get a free pick.
I want to see details.
