there is no real difference. the real reality is that these models never work. we tried it with BC and his pheonix model. we tried it with o'neill and his detroit model. i think we even tried it with Bosh and our san antonio model. our team needs to build our own identity. we don't have jason kidd, dirk, duncan, the wallaces, billups. they're game changing future hall of famers.

I particularly don't like the idea of Casey importing some model that worked for another head coach before. He's seen a lot of different lineups that worked, and he needs to be able to put his own principles into place, not copy what worked elsewhere. Lowry should be able to be Lowry, not Kidd or Payton or whomever. Get him or whoever in the right mix based on what Casey has figured out over the last 20 years, and take it from there. The good news, I think, is that Casey would much prefer to use the knowledge and principles he has accumulated than stick players and lineups into impossible boxes. Results ultimately have to come from looking forward, not by forcing puzzle pieces together to mirror some past results.

THANK YOU.

Is it just me, or are Raps fans setting this poor kid up to fail miserably in the eyes of the masses?

it's the media setting up raps fans to set the kid up to fail miserably. I don't blame the fans. Those who are true fans would know that JV will be a long term project, that may never pan out. if he doesn't, no big deal because that draft sucked ass, but if he does, we got the steal, and all signs RIGHT NOW prove to it being a steal.

JV can suck for five years and not be considered to have failed miserably. For a year for certain as long as he shows something in dribs and drabs at least. Even Hafa got love for a few games out west. I'm sure he can do better than that. He isn't likely to make that big of a difference to the team in year one though. I think BC might be getting setup to fail miserably if too much is expected in that sense, unless he makes improvements well beyond the rookie C.

Ha - just read Claudius' blog post and he says something similar. I didn't mean to plagiarize.
