we'll have to wait and see about that. Apparently the deal is 90% done they just need to find a third team.

If thsy still need a third team I really don't see how the deal could be anymore than 66.666666 percent done.

Well, there are other legit sources saying that talks between Orlando and NJ could be making some progress soon by involving Cleveland.

From CBS Sports:

Quote:
The Nets are progressing with plans to recruit a third team to absorb salary in a blockbuster trade proposal that would send Dwight Howard to Brooklyn, league sources told CBSSports.com Sunday.

A key component of the proposed deal with Orlando would be finding a third team to take the Nets' Kris Humphries in a sign-and-trade arrangement. Cleveland has emerged as a “possible destination” for Humphries in such a scenario, in which the Nets would attempt to accumulate at least three first-round picks to send to the Magic in their package for Howard, one of the sources said.

The Cavs have as many as six first-round picks in the next three drafts -- three of them from previous trades, with various levels of protection. However, with cap space to sign Humphries as a free agent, getting Humphries alone wouldn't provide any incentive for Cleveland to surrender one of those picks.

The complicated framework was far from agreed to Sunday, but the Nets were "making progress" in their longtime pursuit of Howard, one of the people said. The Magic remain engaged in trade talks for Howard with several teams and have not been given the green light by Brooklyn officials that a third-team facilitator has been found, another source said.

The Lakers also remain involved in the Howard discussions, but the Magic are reluctant to send Howard to L.A. for Andrew Bynum if the Lakers' center isn't willing to commit to a long-term deal as part of the trade. Yahoo Sports reported Sunday that Bynum has given no inclination that he's willing to do so.

Similarly, Howard's camp has not signaled that the Magic All-Star is ready to relax his stance that he'd only sign a long-term deal with the Nets if traded, sources said.

Thank you.

It's not like it was a shock that Allen went to Heat. Anyone could have broke that story. Doesn't mean they are a legit source.

Is Dan Gilbert still so bitter that he makes this trade so that there's a team to be more competitive against Miami?

As soon as it is over your going to have to deal with some other trade crap. For instance, coming up next is Chris Paul.

Paul isn't leaving. He will just wait to sign his extension after next season because he'll make more money that way.

this is orlando playing games with the lakers, lakers are probably waiting and seeing how things turn out with nash, bynum, gasol, and kobe, meanwhile orlando is trying to get the best deal,

if the lakers find out howard might be going to the nets, and if the stakes are raised in the bid between nets and magic it might force the hand of the lakers

next couple days howard will be traded to the lakers

No, I don't think that's the case. Although we would be top 5 at 4 out of 5 positions, we would be without a bench.

Nash (top 5 PG), Kobe (best SG), Gasol (top 5 PF), Dwight (best C) is beast, no doubt...but there's no bench whatsoever.

Hopefully they would acquire Grant Hill, re-sign Jordan Hill, keep Steve Blake, Ebanks, McRoberts. Sign a couple vet mins and use the mini-MLE on a shooter (perhaps Jodie Meeks?).

I think without plugging the bench holes, that team isn't the favourites to win it. But if they do, watch out. We need shooters badly.

According to Woj's sources, this isn't really about forcing the Lakers' hand. The major roadblock to a trade with the Lakers involves the Magic's concern that Andrew Bynum won't sign an extension if he's traded to Orlando. That would put the Magic back in the same position they're already in. Next summer, Bynum will be a free agent just like Howard. Bynum could walk to another team. It's a gamble. The Lakers can offer the best player, but the Nets can offer the best safety net, since Lopez would agree to an extension this week before being traded.

The thing that sucks for Orlando is that any picks sent from Brooklyn won't be high ones. The Nets own a future pick from Houston, but it's lotto protected. And after the Nets acquire D12 and add him to a roster that includes D-Will, Joe Johnson, and crash Wallace, there is no way the Nets are in the lottery in the next 4 years, unless half the starting lineup suffers from a season ending injury.
