Default Crittenton Charged with Murder

Yes this the same guy that was in the gun-lockeroom confrontation with Gilbert Arenas...

Quote:
Police said late Friday that former NBA player Javaris Crittenton(notes), who was once suspended by the league over guns in the locker room, has been charged with murder after a woman was shot on an Atlanta street.

Police spokesman Carlos Campos said police have secured a murder warrant for the arrest of Crittenton, who played at Georgia Tech, in connection with the shooting death of 22-year-old Jullian Jones on Aug. 19. Campos said Crittenton is not in custody and is wanted...

Jones, a mother of four, was walking with a group of people on the city’s southwest side when a dark-colored SUV drove by and she was shot by someone inside the vehicle, police said.

Investigators say they don’t believe the woman was the intended target. Campos said the motive appears to be retaliation for a robbery in April, in which Crittenton was a victim, Campos said in a statement.

Whether he pulled the trigger, or was just there. Its still a thuggish situation to be involved in.
I have never been involved with a drive by. Have you?

Guilt by association. Whether he pulled the trigger or not it says a lot about him and PR the NBA does not need. Besides, I wouldn't think the police would have charged him without some serious evidence - especially considering this would go all over the national media.

Either way, not good

Hehe. Well I'd think with the massive press that will come about they won't be that stupid.

I have a question though. My family is American but growing up in Canada I certainly don't know much about the American justice system - isn't it odd that the FBI is involved for a drive by shooting?

Wow.

pretty crazy news... maybe Agent Zero knew something we don't, maybe this guy needed a gun in his face?

(clearly not, but you know what I mean)

Maybe he isn't as inocent as I thought in that locker room fiasco.

Javaris is a joker but I don't know if it's necessarily bad for the NBA. Let's not forget that the league hasn't touched this guy since his little stunt with Arenas. The fact that he got caught up with this latest bit of news actually makes NBA franchises look smart for not signing him for the past 2 years when he clearly has the talent to play in the league.

Javaris Crittenton’s arrest casts locker room incident in a more disturbing light

He was named a captain his sophomore year in high school, on a Georgia state championship team featuring Dwight Howard, a senior mentor to his teammate.

A member of the Future Business Leaders of America, Crittenton carried a 3.5 grade point average. He recruited to Georgia Tech by Paul Hewitt, the current George Mason coach. Hewitt declined comment Monday, perhaps having trouble with an incongruent thought – how the kid he knew didn’t quite match with the headline, “Crittenton Wanted in a Homicide.” ...

Little-known fact uncovered in court documents in the spring of 2010: Crittenton, via text message, asked to borrow thousands from Arenas to help pay his ill mother’s escalating medical bills. Just two months after their confrontation, Arenas obliged...

An NBA first-round draft choice, Crittenton, less than two years ago, laid his head on the pillows of Four Seasons and Ritz Calrtons. Today, he is in custody in a homicide case.

A mother of four is gone.

And the hoop dreams of a bright, young kid, who as a teen once lofted alley-oop passes to a gangly Dwight Howard for bedazzling dunks, is all but dead.

What a vicious cycle. From nothing to something. And back to nothing again. What a sinister omen those guns in the locker room may soon turn out to be.
