Well remember its not just up to the team but the all star...the player can force the destination by saying they will or will not sign - lots of leverage unless the team that's gutting itself wants to gamble.

Well, at least some good will come of this... we'll to see how good Pau really is now.
Patterson more or less = Scola anyway. You won't run plays for him yet -- but he's on a different level defensively, he fits with pretty much any center unlike Scola, and he's only a sophomore.
And they have a ton of youngsters coming in. Motiejunas looks especially impressive atm. He just broke the Euroleague rebounding record some days ago, and remember, this is the guy who was top 3 on everyone's draft boards early last year, and dropped to 20 because of bad rebounding.

Still, I'd imagine other deals are following. Rockets have a ton of assets. Either they turn around and trade Pau to a contender at some point. Or they turn all the assets into Andre Iguodala or Danny Granger or something.

still though, Paul/Kobe/Dwight and who cares will annihilate the teams for years. So much for the lock-out or competitive fairness the owners wanted

Indeed. And Tyson/Butler seem to be leaving Dallas. And Durant will be way less effective under new fouling rules.
Can I just have Lakers-Heat on Christmas, and go watch some soccer the rest of the season?

One team that no one's talking about is MEM.... word is that they're going to open the piggy bank and pay Gasol to keep him there. If that's the case they still have one of the best frontlines on basketball.

Losing Battier would hurt but they'd still be very good on the whole.

Daymmm huge trade for Lakers and Hornets. Hornets sure seem to feel a lot of areas they needed help in. They got a capable starting SG now with Martin. Landry and Scola can also both play the 4/5 which is very decent. I rembmer seeing dragic shine when he was still on the Suns.

and Houston just gave up a lot for Gasol, but at least they finally got their 5, and putting a lot of faith on Budinger and Hill

That's too much, Kardashodom and Gasol for CP3. I'd say they just want to make room for the best center in the NBA.

go Fakers, gimme a break.

WoW is the right response lol.
Lakers just screwed up their chemistry big time. With the help from other owners.

You know what, let the owners all get angry with each other. They can still not sign the new CBA, right? Or was it signed already. Bring on the lockout back. This deal is obviously not working anyway, not as far as competitive small markets.

I think every owner who had interest in CP3 this year, and every owner with cap space in 2012 to sign CP3, and every owner of a contending team, and every Western Conference owner, and every owner whose team has any chance to contend in the next 5 years....

The NBA, where keeping large markets happy happens.

What a joke.

Yes, Los Angeles is very happy after NBA cancelled their biggest incoming superstar since Shaq.
